AI Article Synopsis

  • - Tomatoes are a crucial global vegetable crop but are susceptible to fusarium wilt, a disease that harms their vascular systems.
  • - This study focused on molecularly identifying a specific strain of the fusarium fungus and exploring the use of nanoemulsions derived from Chilean medicinal plants to combat the disease.
  • - The research demonstrated that applying higher concentrations of these nanoemulsions (250 and 500 ppm) in greenhouse tests significantly reduced the incidence of fusariosis in tomato plants.

Article Abstract

Tomatoes ( L.) are the most cultivated and important vegetable crop in the world. These plants can wilt during crop growth due to fusarium wilt (fusariosis), a disease that damages tomato vascular systems. The isolated and analyzed in this work correspond to f. sp. . The isolates were molecularly identified, and analysis was done on the in vitro effects of the nanoemulsions (previously obtained from extracts of Chilean medicinal plants of the genera and ) to inhibit mycelial and conidial germination of the isolates. Subsequently, the nanoemulsions were evaluated under greenhouse conditions for preventive control of fusariosis in the root and crown, with high levels of disease control observed using the highest concentrations of these nanoemulsions, at 250 and 500 ppm.

Background: Alfalfa, scientifically identified as , is repeatedly referred to as the "king of forages". Because of its tight relationship to winter hardiness, the alfalfa's root crown plays a significant role as a storage organ over the winter. At present, it is still unknown what molecular process makes the alfalfa root crown resistant to cold.

Background: Investigating the safe range of orthodontic tooth movement is essential for maintaining oral and maxillofacial stability post-treatment. Although clear aligners rely on pre-treatment digital models, their effect on periodontal hard tissues remains uncertain. By integrating CBCT-derived cervical and root data with crown data from digital intraoral scans, a three-dimensional (3D) fusion model may enhance precision and safety.

Effect of Cold Plasma on the Penetration Depth of AH26 and Beta Resin Sealers in Dentinal Tubules.

J Dent (Shiraz)

December 2024

Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Tehran Medical Sciences, Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran.

Statement Of The Problem: The creation of a proper seal of the root canal with canal-filling materials, such as gutta-percha and sealer, is one of the essential factors in the success of root canal treatment. In addition, the penetration depth of the sealer is one of the influential factors in creating a proper seal, which improves the sealing ability of the canal and the burial of microorganisms.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effect of cold atmospheric plasma on the depth of tubular penetration of two types of resin sealer: AH26 and Beta RCS sealers.

Introduction: Cases involving invasive cervical root resorption (ICRR) in oncological patients are rare, in addition, follow-up of these patients has not yet been reported in the literature.

Objective: This study aims to present a literature review and report a case of denosumab as a possible cause of ICRR in a patient with breast cancer with 2 years of follow-up.

Case Report: A 39-year-old female with a history of luminal breast cancer was treated with denosumab semiannually for osteopenia with discontinuation 1 year ago.

Objectives: The introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) about great changes in the field of dentistry, but it has not yet been fully determined in which areas it will make a positive contribution to dentistry students. The objective of our study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of undergraduate students (fourth-year dentistry students [4DS] and final-year dentistry students [5DS]) and AI when examining panoramic radiographs.

Methods: Fifty panoramic radiographs and 1602 teeth were examined by 50 4DS who had not received a clinical practice internship, 50 5DS, and an AI application.
