A procedure for the formation of a nitrate-encapsulating tripalladium(II) cage self-assembly of Pd(NO) with 1,3-bis(dimethyl(pyridin-4-yl)silyl)propane (L) was developed. The self-assembly reaction initially produces spiro-type macrocycles, PdL, and finally results in transformation into a nitrate-encapsulated cage, [(NO)@PdL], in the mother liquor. The reaction of PdX (X = BF, ClO, PF, and CFSO instead of NO) with L gives rise to a spiro species, PdL, as the final product, and anion exchange of the spiro products, [PdL](X), with NO produces the tripalladium cage [(NO)@PdL].

Background: This study was to elucidate the impact of blast-induced neurotrauma (BINT) on phosphoproteome networks and cognition in a genetically heterogeneous population of mice (rTg4510) with the human tau P301L mutation linked to Alzheimer's disease-related dementia (ADRD) including frontotemporal dementia.

Method: Mild traumatic brain injury was induced in rTg4510 mice exposed to a single low-density blast (LIB) at an upright position. After assessment of cognitive function by the automated-Home Cage Monitoring (aHCM) system, frontal cortex tissue was collected at 40 days post-injury.

Background: The sortilin-related receptor 1 protein, SORL1, interacts with retromer to regulate trafficking of cargo out of the early endosome. Genetic variants in SORL1 that lead to a premature protein truncation (PTVs) are observed almost exclusively in Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients, suggesting SORL1's haploinsufficiency may be causal for AD. However, the large majority of SORL1 variants are rare missense variants which affect diverse structural domains, some of which may be causative for disease or (strongly) risk-increasing, while others are (likely) benign.

Background: Empathy is a complex behavior enabling individuals to recognize and sense the emotional situation of others. Empathy requires cognitive, emotional, and learning abilities to understand and react to the suffering of others. The current study evaluates the effect of Amyloid-Beta (Aβ), an aggregated peptide involved in Alzheimer's disease on empathy-like behavior.

In this paper, microporous Zn-based zeolitic imidazolate framework with the sodalite cage structure (SOD-ZIF-8) was synthesized by the solvothermal method. Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and N2 adsorption were employed to characterize the synthesized material. An ultra-sensitive electrochemical sensor based on highly dispersed bimetallic Ni-Pt nanoparticles immobilized on zeolitic metal-organic framework ZIF-8 for dopamine quantification is introduced for the first time.
