In this study, we report the modification of a monolithic γ-aluminum oxy-hydroxide (γ-AlOOH) aerogel with cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) using the sol-gel method via supercritical drying. The optimized 2% CNF (w/w) results in a monolithic CNF-γ-AlOOH that is amorphous in nature, along with C-C and C-O-C functional groups. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images of the as-synthesized CNF-γ-AlOOH showed CNF embedded in the γ-AlOOH aerogel.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a frequent clinical complication lacking early diagnostic tests and effective treatments. Novel biomarkers have shown promise for enabling earlier detection, risk stratification, and guiding management of AKI. We conducted a systematic review to synthesize evidence on the efficacy of novel biomarkers for AKI detection and management.

Purpose Of Review: Protein intake is recognized as a key nutritional factor crucial for optimizing Metabolic Bariatric Surgery (MBS) outcomes by preventing protein malnutrition, preserving fat-free mass, and inducing satiety. This paper discusses the current evidence regarding protein intake and its impact on clinical outcomes following MBS.
Recent Findings: There are considerable gaps in the understanding of protein requirements following MBS, as existing guidelines are based on limited and inconsistent reports.

Background: Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is widely used for managing brain metastases (BMs), but an adverse effect, radionecrosis, complicates post-SRS management. Differentiating radionecrosis from tumor recurrence non-invasively remains a major clinical challenge, as conventional imaging techniques often necessitate surgical biopsy for accurate diagnosis. Machine learning and deep learning models have shown potential in distinguishing radionecrosis from tumor recurrence.

Endowing cyanine dyes with hydrophilicity, long blood circulation, tumor targeting, and robust therapeutic efficacy in the second near-infrared (NIR-II) window is challenging for cancer treatment. Herein, we develop cancer cell membrane-coated albumin-NIR-II cyanine dye assemblies, denoted as LZ-1105@HAm, to optimize the photophysical properties of cyanine dyes in aqueous solution for NIR-II fluorescence (FL)/photoacoustic (PA)/photothermal (PT) multimodality imaging-guided tumor homologous targeting photothermal therapy. LZ-1105@HAm exhibits good hydrophilicity, extends the half-life of blood circulation from 0.
