The Certification Board in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. completed a 2020 Job Analysis to validate the contents of the Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) exam accurately reflects the work of the infection preventionist (IP). The Job Analysis provided evidence that knowledge and tasks were well to very well covered on the survey. These knowledge and task statements form the blueprint for the exam for the next 3-5 years.

This study addresses the critical issue of irreversible oxidation in hypochlorite (ClO⁻) sensing by a phenothiazine-based compound, which typically leads to the probe's degradation and loss of functionality. We introduce a novel fluorescence probe, (2-(5-(10 H-phenothiazin-10-yl)thiophen-2-yl)-1 H-benzo[d]imidazol-6-yl)(phenyl)methanone (PTH-BP), specifically designed to enhance ClO⁻ detection efficiency. PTH-BP exhibits strong aggregation-induced emission (AIE), emitting deep orange fluorescence at 620 nm with a large Stokes shift of 195 nm, and achieves an impressive detection limit of 1 nM in ACN/PBS buffer solutions.

: Canada's long-term care (LTC) sector is struggling with a significant staffing crisis related to shortages, high-turnover rate, and challenging working conditions. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated these issues and emphasized the need for improved mental health support for LTC staff. Understanding and addressing the wellbeing of staff is important for ensuring quality of care and promoting a positive work environment for a healthy workforce.

This study explores the potential of integrating mindfulness and the Mediterranean lifestyle into corporate wellness programs to enhance workplace well-being. A survey of 485 employees from Greece and Cyprus examined how mindfulness, resilience, adherence to the Mediterranean lifestyle, and work ability are connected. Pearson correlation analysis showed statistically significant positive relationships between mindfulness, resilience, and work ability ( < 0.

Hypertension (HTN) is recognized as a major modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular deaths in South Asia. Our aim was to furnish a comprehensive analysis of HTN prevalence, trends, control efforts, awareness, barriers in care delivery and associated factors, based on nationally derived evidence in Sri Lanka. A systematic search of online databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus), local journals and repositories yielded 6704 results, of which 106 were included.

Nile blue has been widely used in histological staining, fluorescence labeling, and DNA probing, with its intercalation behavior into the DNA helix being well documented. Here, we present a comprehensive investigation to address a current knowledge gap regarding the binding properties of Nile blue to two types of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA): poly(A·U) and poly(I·C), using various biophysical techniques. Absorption and fluorescence spectroscopic studies suggest a significant binding interaction between Nile blue and the two designated dsRNAs, specifically indicating an intercalation binding mode with poly(A·U) and demonstrating a noticeably higher binding affinity compared to poly(I·C).
