In our world, with the increase of factors such as the rapid and irresponsible consumption of natural resources, man-made environmental disasters, global warming, and pollution of water resources in our world, the need for more efficient storage and disposal of solid waste has arisen. The presentation of the data required to solve spatial problems such as storage, management, and location selection can be carried out extensively and effectively using geographic information systems (GIS). On the other hand, the unsatisfactory results obtained with GIS recently have made it mandatory to use spatial multiple criteria decision-making (S-MCDM) methods that include the decision-makers in the process. In this study, landfill site selection was carried out in eight provinces in the region under the responsibility of the Eastern Black Sea Project Regional Development Administration (DOKAP). GIS and S-MCDM were used together in this site selection process. A total of eight spatial data layers were used in the site selection application. Afterwards, storage areas determined as suitable via GIS analysis underwent additional evaluation, taking into account geological, seismic, and environmental factors as well as transportation costs. In addition to these multi-component evaluations, odor analyses were carried out on the proposed storage areas using the prevailing wind direction.

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) leverages the nuclear reaction between boron-10 and thermal neutrons to selectively destroy cancer cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. This therapy has found use in treating glioblastoma, which as a brain cancer, is difficult to treat using conventional radiotherapy, surgery, and chemotherapy due to location and the risk of brain damage. However, to work, the cells must contain 10B.

Base editing is a common mechanism by which organisms expand their genetic repertoire to access new functions. Here, we explore the mechanism of tRNA recognition in the bacterial deaminase TadA, which exclusively recognizes tRNA and converts the wobble base adenosine (A34) to inosine. We quantitatively evaluate the dynamics of tRNA binding by incorporating the fluorescent adenine analogue 2-aminopurine (2-AP) at position 34 in the wobble base of the anticodon loop.

Objectives: Maxillary transverse deficiency is a common malocclusion frequently observed in orthodontic clinics. Miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) not only produces greater skeletal expansion but also offers advantages such as simple miniscrew implantation without flap elevation, enhanced patient comfort, and an expanded age range and indications for palatal expansion. However, the fixed connection between the expander and the miniscrews makes the expander difficult to remove, significantly hindering its clinical application.

Background: Intrauterine twin pregnancy complicated by cornual heterotopic pregnancy is a rare pregnancy situation that demands effective intervention to avert rupture of the cornual pregnancy, while also striving to preserve the intrauterine fetus.
Case Description: A 31-year-old woman presented with a complex pregnancy scenario involving an intrauterine twin gestation alongside a cornual heterotopic pregnancy subsequent to in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. Under the guidance of abdominal ultrasound, a transabdominal puncture was performed to administer potassium chloride directly at the site of fetal heartbeats for the purpose of fetal reduction, and to aspirate a portion of the fluid within the gestational sac to reduce its volume.

Fatty liver hemorrhage syndrome (FLHS) is the most common metabolic diseases in laying hens during the late-laying period, and it causes a significant economic burden on the poultry industry. The competing endogenous RNA plays crucial roles in the occurrence and development of fatty liver. Based on the previously constructed lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA networks, we selected the axis of ENSGALT00000079786-LPL-miR-143-5p for further study to elucidate its mechanistic role in development of fatty liver.
