We investigated whether [SiF(NH)] can act as a fluoride-ion acceptor in its reactions with the fluorides F ( = Li-Cs, Tl, NH) in anhydrous liquid ammonia (NH). While LiF and NaF did not react, we obtained the compounds K[SiF(NH)], Rb[SiF(NH)], and Cs[SiF(NH)], as well as [NH(NH)][SiF] and [Tl(NH)][SiF]·2NH, from the other starting materials and characterized them by either single-crystal or powder X-ray diffraction. The compound [NH(NH)][SiF] contains the very rarely observed hydrogen-bonded, -symmetric diammine ammonium cation [NH(NH)], and the compound [Tl(NH)][SiF]·2NH is an example for an uncommon Tl(I)-Tl(I) interaction. This "thallophilic" interaction was investigated with quantum-chemical methods.

The Trifluorooxygenate Anion [OF]: Spectroscopic Evidence for a Binary, Hypervalent Oxygen Species.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

Experimental evidence for hypervalent compounds of second-row elements is still scarce in literature. Here, we present the first report of the long-sought binary, hypervalent trifluorooxygenate anion [OF]. It was isolated in solid Ne matrices under cryogenic conditions after reacting oxygen difluoride with free fluoride ions from laser ablation of alkali metal fluorides MF (M=Li-Cs).

In this Communication, nanoparticles of the fluoridosilicates A SiF (A=Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs), which are extremely promising host lattices for future LEDs, are presented for the first time. The preparation method we introduce here is a very simple and energy and time saving one, moreover the usage of toxic HF or elemental fluorine is avoided. In detail, the ionic liquid [Bmim]PF was used both as solvent and fluoride source in an ionothermally assisted microwave synthesis.

Objective: To explore the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in the diagnosis of thyroid occupied lesions with injection of sulphur hexafluoride microbubbles.

Methods: Fifty nine cases of conventional ultrasonic diagnosis of thyroid lesions in patients with 73 lesions re-sulfur hexafluoride microbubble ultrasound contrast real-time inspection, the use of CEUS and contrast pulse sequencing (CPS).

Results: Seventy-three lesions were satisfied with the dynamic contrast perfusion imaging.

The conditions in which Leu(5)-enkephalin inhibition of striatal adenylate cyclase was observed were defined. It was determined that enkephalin inhibition was dependent on GTP. The apparent K(m) for GTP in opiate inhibition was determined to be 0.
