Background/aim: The purpose of this article is to review the published literature on single-port laparoscopic (SPL) ovarian cystectomy and to assess whether the reduced port number affects the ovarian reserve in comparison with the conventional multiport laparoscopic (MPL) ovarian cystectomy.
Materials And Methods: It has been suggested that the most accurate marker of ovarian reserve is the Serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH). A review of the current literature was performed based on the preoperative and postoperative AMH after SPL and MPL ovarian cystectomy in adult patients with benign ovarian cysts.
Results: Ovarian cystectomy causes a non-statistically significant reduction in AMH levels four weeks postoperatively in the SPL group compared to the MPL group [MD = 0.11, 95% CI (-0.01, 0.24), P =0 .07]. Operative time was significantly longer, and blood loss was significantly higher in the SPL group. No difference was reported in terms of major or overall postoperative complications between the two groups.
Conclusion: SPL cystectomy may be offered as a minimally invasive surgical alternative for patients who want to preserve their fertility, at the cost of higher blood loss and longer operative time.

Background: Whether cyst size affects ovarian reserve before and after surgery remains controversial.
Objective: The objective of this study is to determine whether cyst size causes differences in pre- and post-ovarian reserve impairment among patients with endometrioma.
Search Strategy: PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure were searched from inception to October 13, 2023.

Septic pelvic thrombophlebitis is defined as an endovascular thrombus of infectious etiology. It is frequently diagnosed only after excluding other more common pathologies. A high level of suspicion should be maintained in the context of a fever refractory to broad-spectrum antibiotics that improves after initiation of systemic anticoagulation.

Objective: Clear cell borderline ovarian tumor is a rare subtype of borderline ovarian tumor for which the clinicopathological characteristics, management, and prognosis remain unclear. Herein, we describe the clinical features, treatment options, and prognosis of clear cell borderline ovarian tumors.
Study Design: This was a retrospective study of nine patients with pathologically confirmed clear cell borderline ovarian tumors treated at Peking Union Medical College Hospital between 2006 and 2023.

Objective To compare the safety and efficacy of fertility-sparing surgery in patients with ovarian borderline tumors (BOT). Methods A total of 121 BOT patients undergoing fertility-sparing surgery between January 2010 and October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The univariate analysis, multivariate analysis, and survival curves were employed to evaluate the clinicopathological and surgical variables and fertility.

Ethanol sclerotherapy (EST) has gained attention as a minimally invasive treatment option for ovarian endometriomas, particularly in infertile women with endometrioma undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). Endometriomas are associated with decreased ovarian reserve and impaired fertility outcomes, and traditional surgical approaches, such as cystectomy, often lead to further reductions in ovarian reserve. Ethanol sclerotherapy offers a potential alternative that preserves ovarian function while effectively managing endometriomas.
