We describe a high-performance, compact optical frequency standard based on a microfabricated Rb vapor cell and a low-noise, external cavity diode laser operating on the Rb two-photon transition at 778 nm. The optical standard achieves an instability of 1.8×10 for times less than 100 s and a flicker noise floor of 1×10 out to 6000 s. At long integration times, the instability is limited by variations in optical probe power and the ac Stark shift. The retrace was measured to 5.7×10 after 30 h of dormancy. Such a simple, yet high-performance optical standard could be suitable as an accurate realization of the meter or, if coupled with an optical frequency comb, as a compact atomic clock comparable to a hydrogen maser.

Human performance in psychophysical detection and discrimination tasks is limited by inner noise. It is unclear to what extent this inner noise arises from early noise (e.g.

Context: The two-dimensional graphene/MoTe heterostructure holds extensive potential applications in optoelectronic devices, sensors, and catalysts. To expand its optical applications, this study systematically investigates the adsorption stability of metal atoms (Au, Pt, Pd, and Fe) on the graphene/MoTe and their influence on its optoelectronic properties employing first-principles methods. The findings indicate that after the adsorption of Au and Pd, the structure retains its direct bandgap properties, while the adsorption of Pt and Fe exhibits indirect bandgap characteristics.

If that is correct, then perhaps psychedelics should be treated differently from other medical substances: for example, by being subjected to different ethical or evidentiary standards. Alternatively, it may be that psychedelics have more in common with various existing medical interventions than first meets the eye.

Juvenile dermatomyositis with emphasized vasculopathy is rare, but the most severe form of the disease, with a poor prognosis with relapsing and chronic course or, in some cases, lethal outcome. We present a case of a 19-year-old Caucasian female, who developed severe acute juvenile dermatomyositis with emphasized multisystem vasculopathy, including retinal vasculopathy and maculopathy (cotton-wool spots, retinal hemorrhages, macular edema) at the age of 8. Due to no response to standard treatment protocols and rapid worsening of clinical symptoms and laboratory findings, a TNF inhibitor (infliximab) was introduced after the third week of treatment resulting in complete normalisation of muscle enzyme levels and complete resolution of eye changes within the next 2 weeks with a gradual general recovery.

This review explores recent technological advances in intraoperative imaging during retinal disease surgeries, focusing on their applicability in clinical practice and impact on surgical outcomes. A literature search identified studies discussing new imaging technologies, their advantages over conventional methods, relevant case studies, and literature reviews. Exclusion criteria included studies unrelated to retinal diseases, imaging technologies not suitable for intraoperative use, outdated articles, and nonscientific reports.
