This paper presents an acoustic transducer for fully implantable cochlear implants (FICIs), which can be implanted on the hearing chain to detect and filter the ambient sound in eight frequency bands between 250 and 6000 Hz. The transducer dimensions are conventional surgery compatible. The structure is formed with 3 × 3 × 0.

The majority of the present designs lack the ability to continuously record brain activity during electrical stimulation; hence they cannot fully monitor the treatment's effectiveness. This is due to the large stimulation artifacts that can saturate the sensitive readout circuits.

Aims/introduction: Local low-frequency vibration (LLFV) promotes vasodilation and blood flow, enhancing wound healing in diabetic foot ulcers with angiopathy. However, vibration-induced vasodilation does not occur, owing to chronic hyperglycemia and inflammation. We hypothesized that LLFV improves glycometabolism and inflammation, leading to vasodilation and angiogenesis in diabetic wounds.

Multi-agent chemotherapy successfully induces remission in most naïve, high-grade canine lymphoma patients; however, disease recurrence is common. MOPP (mechlorethamine, vincristine, procarbazine, and prednisone) is an effective rescue protocol used to re-induce remission, but is associated with gastrointestinal toxicity and can be a less desirable option for patients that previously failed vincristine-containing protocols. Therefore, alternative members of the vinca alkaloid family, such as vinblastine, could be potentially advantageous as substitutes for vincristine to reduce gastrointestinal toxicity and chemoresistance.

Mechanical ventilation (MV) is a lifesaving therapy for patients with acute or chronic respiratory failure. Despite, it can also cause lung injury by inducing or worsening inflammatory responses and oxidative stress. Several clinical approaches have protective effects on the lungs, including the prone position and exogenous surfactant; however, few studies have evaluated the association between the two strategies, especially in individuals without previous lung injury.
