Background & objectives The choice of anesthetic for better perioperative conservation of immune responses has always been contentious. This study investigated the differential impact of the intravenous anesthetic, propofol, and the volatile anesthetic, isoflurane on the T cell immune responses, if any, among individuals going through perioperative breast cancer. Methods Perioperative blood samples (preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative) collected from participants with breast cancer in two arms namely isoflurane arm (n=50) and the propofol arm (n=50) were analyzed for T cell immune response using flow cytometry and ELISA.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of intravenous tranexamic acid (TXA) in patients undergoing percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP), and identify the factors influencing hidden blood loss (HBL).

Methods: This randomized, placebo-controlled trial included 146 patients undergoing PKP surgery from September 2023 to July 2024. Patients were randomly assigned into the TXA group (75 patients received 1.

Background: The Kasai procedure (KPE) is an important treatment for biliary atresia (BA), the most common cause of neonatal obstructive jaundice.

Aim: To investigate the efficacy of robotic-assisted Kasai portoenterostomy (RAKPE) in patients with BA.

Methods: Clinical data of 10 patients with BA who underwent RAKPE at the Seventh Medical Center of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital between December 2018 and December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.

Background: To evaluate the influence of sodium bicarbonate Ringer's solution (BRS) combined with positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) on the internal environment in patients who have undergone laparoscopic bariatric surgery.

Methods: A total of 128 patients undergoing laparoscopic bariatric surgery were randomly divided into the control group (group C), the PEEP group (group P), the BRS group (group B), and the BRS combined with the PEEP group (group BP). The results of arterial blood gas analysis, including pH value, base excess (BE), concentrations of electrolyte, and lactate (Lac) were documented before intravenous infusion (T0) and 5 min after the surgery (T1).

Background: The absolute overall survival (OS) improvement with preoperative chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients is controversial and unsatisfactory. We designed this trial to explore the efficacy and safety of perioperative sintilimab plus platinum-based chemotherapy for potentially resectable stage IIIB NSCLC to facilitate further optimization of this therapeutic strategy.

Methods: Patients diagnosed with stage IIIB NSCLC through invasive staging approaches and/or PET/CT scans and evaluated as having a high probability of radical resection of the primary lesion and metastatic lymph nodes with clear pathological margins by a multidisciplinary team were enrolled in this open-label, single-arm, phase II trial at a single centre in China.
