Two new chromones named cnidimol G () and cnidimol H (), one new coumarin, 7-methoxy-8-(3-methoxy-3-methyl-2-oxobutyl)coumarin (), and twenty known compounds were isolated from MeOH extract of the fruit of (L.) Cusson. The structures of compounds were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analyses including 1 D and 2 D NMR, HRESIMS, IR and UV. Anti-inflammatory activity of the selected isolated compounds were evaluated. Compounds and exhibited inhibitory activities against nitric oxide production.

Osthole, the dominant bioactive constituent in the , has shown acute pesticidal activities. However, its detailed toxicity, antifeedant, and oviposition preference effects against agricultural pests have not been fully understood, limiting its practical use. This study aimed to investigate the contact toxicity, antifeedant activity, and oviposition preference of osthole against three agricultural pests (, , and ).

Background: Osthole (OST) is a bioactive natural coumarin derived from the plant Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cusson fruit (She Chuang Zi), which has various pharmacological and biological activities. OST contains an α,β- unsaturated lactone, which is an electrophilic group that tends to be metabolized into reactive metabolites (RMs).
