Unlabelled: The study aims to investigate the clinicopathological significance of MRPL24 in human cancers, with a particular focus on breast cancer (BC). Comprehensive bioinformatics analyses were conducted using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and various advanced database, including cBioPortal, UALCAN, TIMER, Prognoscan, TISIDB, KM Plotter, and The Human Protein Atlas, to provide a detailed evaluation of MRPL55's role in cancer. The findings were further validated through experimental studies.

This article evaluates the ability of low-energy (40 keV) virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs) in the local diagnosis of cervical cancer compared with that of conventional computed tomography (C-CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), using clinicopathologic staging as a reference.  This prospective study included 33 patients with pathologically confirmed cervical cancer who underwent dual-energy CT and MRI between 2021 and 2022. The contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) of the tumor-to-myometrium was compared between C-CT and VMI.

Background: Programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression in non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) is a crucial factor in predicting responses to immunotherapy. This systematic review and meta-analysis focuses on the prevalence of PD-L1 expression and clinicopathological features among Hispanic/Latino (H/L) populations.

Methods: Embase, LILACS, Medline, and Virtual Health Library were searched for studies that evaluated the prevalence of PD-L1 in H/L patients.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the effectiveness of T2-weighted imaging, apparent diffusion coefficient, and enhanced MRI techniques in predicting HER-2 status in breast cancer patients.
  • A sample of 187 patients from Zhenjiang First People's Hospital was analyzed, with 48 being HER-2 positive and 139 HER-2 negative, using various imaging modalities and statistical methods to develop predictive models.
  • The research employed logistic regression and nomograms, evaluating model performance through ROC curves and decision curve analysis to assess clinical utility.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the added value of 40 keV virtual mono-energetic images (VMIs) obtained from dual-layer detector CT (DLCT) for diagnosing malignant pleural effusion (MPE) in patients presenting with unilateral pleural effusion on chest CT.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 75 patients with unilateral pleural effusion who underwent contrast-enhanced chest CT scans using DLCT. Quantitative and qualitative assessments of the visibility of pleural thickening were conducted on both conventional 120 kVp images and 40 keV VMIs.
