Lipomas are relatively common benign neoplasms composed by mature fat cells. Apart from conventional lipomas, several other subtypes have been described in the oral cavity, including fibrolipoma, myxoid lipoma, angiolipoma, myolipoma, chondrolipoma, osteolipoma and spindle cell lipoma (SCL). Intraoral SCL is rare, representing from 1.4% to 9.8% of all intraoral lipomas. The aim of the present study is to report a case of a large intraoral SCL of the buccal mucosa affecting a 46-year-old male, calling attention to its clinical and histological features and to its successfull surgical conservative management. Lipoma, spindle cell, oral, buccal mucosa.

Background: In approximately 80% of colorectal cancer cases, mutations in the adenomatous polyposis coli () gene disrupt the Wingless-related integration site (Wnt)/β-catenin signaling pathway, a crucial factor in carcinogenesis. This disruption may result in consequences such as aberrant spindle segregation and mitotic catastrophe. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the ethanolic extract of red okra () pods (EEROP) in inducing apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells (SW480) by inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

The protein regulator of cytokinesis 1 (PRC1) is a key regulator of microtubule crosslinking and bundling, which is crucial for spindle formation and cytokinesis. RITA, the BP-J nteracting and ubulin-ssociated protein, is a microtubule associated protein. We have reported that RITA localizes to mitotic spindles modulating microtubule dynamics and stability as well as to spindle poles affecting the activity of Aurora A.

The GC (Golgi complex) plays a pivotal role in the trafficking and sorting of proteins and lipids until they reach their final destination. Additionally, the GC acts as a signalling hub to regulate a multitude of cellular processes, including cell polarity, motility, apoptosis, DNA repair and cell division. In light of these crucial roles, the GC has garnered increasing attention, particularly given the evidence that a dysregulation of GC-regulated signalling pathways may contribute to the onset of various pathological conditions.

High CDC20 levels increase sensitivity of cancer cells to MPS1 inhibitors.

Spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC) inhibitors are a recently developed class of drugs, which perturb chromosome segregation during cell division, induce chromosomal instability (CIN), and eventually lead to cell death. The molecular features that determine cellular sensitivity to these drugs are not fully understood. We recently reported that aneuploid cancer cells are preferentially sensitive to SAC inhibition.

Ovarian endometrioma (OEM), a particularly severe form of endometriosis, is an oestrogen-dependent condition often associated with pain and infertility. The mechanisms by which OEM impairs fertility, particularly through its direct impact on oocyte-cumulus cell (CC) communication and related pathways, remain poorly understood. This study investigates the impact of OEM on oocyte-CC communication and explores melatonin's therapeutic potential.
