With the rapid growth of foreign direct investment (FDI), PM pollution in Chinese cities is increasing. Based on panel data for 271 Chinese cities from 2003 to 2016, this paper uses the dynamic spatial fixed-effects Durbin model to analyze the correlation between FDI and PM pollution and the effect of FDI on urban PM concentrations, as mediated by industrial structure transformation, which is clarified using Stata/SE 16.0. The results showed that PM pollution in China has significant spatial spillover effects, and the pollution haven hypothesis is applicable to Chinese cities. The industrial structure partially mediates the relationship between FDI and PM. This paper proposes that local governments should promote the market-oriented reform of FDI to create a more convenient, legalized, and international environment for FDI and innovate the governance philosophy of only reducing the existing emissions. A top-level design and sound market supervision system of PM control are also needed.

The intercalation of metal chlorides, and particularly iron chlorides, into graphitic carbon structures has recently received lots of attention, as it can not only protect this two-dimensional (2D) magnetic system from the effects of the environment but also substantially alter the magnetic, electronic, and optical properties of both the intercalant and host material. At the same time, intercalation can result in the formation of structural defects or defects can appear under external stimuli, which can affect materials performance. These aspects have received so far little attention in dedicated experiments.

Objective: Chronic Chagas Cardiomyopathy (CCC) carries a high risk of embolic events due to structural changes in the left ventricle and frequent conduction disorders. However, there is limited data on anticoagulant prescription patterns and factors influencing the use of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) in these patients. This study aims to characterize CCC patients based on the anticoagulant therapy received and identify factors associated with DOACs use.

This study focused on the effect of ultrasound-assisted immersion freezing (UIF) with different ultrasound power (200, 400, 600 W) on the physicochemical and digestive properties of beef myofibrillar proteins (BMP). The results showed that the solubility and thermal stability of BMP were significantly increased, when treated with 400 W ultrasound, and the α-helix, β-sheets, β-turns, and random-coil fractions structures content were higher and the fluorescence intensity was closest to that of the control group, demonstrating enhanced structural stability of BMP. The protein digestibility of the UIF-400 W group was significantly enhanced while the particle size of the digested product was reduced, which proved its enhanced digestion characteristics.

There is growing interest in pentose-based prebiotic oligosaccharides as alternatives to traditional hexose-based prebiotics. Among these, arabino-oligosaccharides (AOS), derived from the enzymatic hydrolysis of arabinan polymers, have gained significant attention. AOS can selectively stimulate the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, including and species, and contribute to health-benefit functions such as blood sugar control, positioning AOS as a promising synbiotic candidate.

L. (noni) is native to the tropical and semitropical areas and has been commercially available in health food stores and chain grocery stores specializing in natural foods, recently. Noni seeds are discarded as waste products through the industrial production of noni juice even though their bioactivity components might be a potential source of functional foods.
