A substantial proportion of patients suffer from Post-COVID Syndrome (PCS) with fatigue and impairment of memory and concentration being the most important symptoms. We here set out to perform in-depth neuropsychological assessment of PCS patients referred to the Neurologic PCS clinic compared to patients without sequelae after COVID-19 (non-PCS) and healthy controls (HC) to decipher the most prevalent cognitive deficits. We included n = 60 PCS patients with neurologic symptoms, n = 15 non-PCS patients and n = 15 healthy controls.

Background: The prevalence of depression in COVID-19 patients is notably high, disrupting daily life routines and compounding the burden of other chronic health conditions. In addition, to elucidate the connection between COVID-19 and depression, we conducted an analysis of commonly differentially expressed genes [co-DEGs], uncovering potential biomarkers and therapeutic avenues specific to COVID-19-related depression.
Methods: We obtained gene expression profiles from the Gene Expression Omnibus [GEO] database with strategic keyword searches ["COVID-19", "depression," and "SARS"].

The nucleocapsid (N) protein is one of the four structural proteins in SARS-CoV-2, playing key roles in viral assembly, immune evasion, and stability. One of its primary functions is to protect viral RNA by forming the nucleocapsid. However, the precise mechanisms by which the N protein interacts with viral RNA and assembles into a nucleocapsid remain unclear.

Introduction: While the general immune response to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is well-understood, the long-term effects of Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1/Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus-2 (HIV-1/SARS-CoV-2) co-infection on the immune system remain unclear. This study investigates the immune response in people with HIV-1 (PWH) co-infected with SARS-CoV-2 to understand its long-term health consequences.
Methods: A retrospective longitudinal study of PWH with suppressed viral load and SARS-CoV-2 infection was conducted.

This study employed the methods of serum chemistry, in vivo drug distribution analysis, and network pharmacology to investigate the potential therapeutic effects of Bufei Pills on respiratory disorders and decipher the underlying mechanisms. For the in vivo distribution study, rats were administrated with Bufei Pills, and the absorbed components were analyzed by HPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS. The results showed that 56 components were present in the rat serum, including neocyclomorusin, asterinin A, neoisostegane, goimisin R, and frehmaglutoside H.
