The rational design of heterojunction photocatalysts enabling fast transportation and efficient separation of photoexcited charge carriers is the key element in visible light-driven photocatalyst systems. Herein, we develop a unique Z-scheme heterojunction consisting of NiMoO microflowers (NMOF) and ZIF67, referred to as ZINM (composite), for the purpose of antibiotic degradation. ZIF67 was produced by a solution process, whereas NMOF was synthesized via coprecipitation with a glycine surfactant.

Peroxydisulfate (PDS) activation is a crucial process for wastewater treatment in complicated water matrices. However, it is frequently limited because of poor selectivity, sluggish kinetics, and short lifetime of radicals. Therefore, in this study, an efficient sulfur-doped CN/DyFeO (SCN/DyF) Z-scheme heterostructure catalyst was rationally developed using a simple wet-chemical strategy to photoactivate PDS, which can effectively degrade norfloxacin (NOR; 96.

Chronic diabetic wound poses a pressing global healthcare challenge, necessitating an approach to address issues such as pathogenic bacteria elimination, blood sugar regulation, and angiogenesis stimulation. Herein, we engineered a BiWO@CuO-GOx bio-heterojunction (BWCG bio-HJ) with exceptional cascade catalytic performance and impressive sonosensitivity to remodel the wound microenvironment and expedite the diabetic wound healing. Specifically, the Z-scheme junctions of BiWO@CuO significantly augmented carrier separation dynamics, leading to the highly efficient generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon US irradiations.

Charge Transfer Mechanism in Type II WO/CuO Heterostructure.

Laboratory of Photoactive Nanocomposite Materials, Saint Petersburg State University, 199034 Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

In this study, we explore the charge transfer mechanism between WO and CuO in heterostructured WO/CuO electrodes and in a WO||CuO tandem photoelectrochemical cell. The physical-chemical characterizations of the individual WO and CuO electrodes and the heterostructured WO/CuO electrode by XRD, XPS, and SEM methods confirm the successful formation of the target systems. The results of photoelectrochemical studies infer that in both the heterostructured WO/CuO electrode and WO||CuO tandem photoelectrochemical cell, the major mechanism of charge transfer between WO and CuO is a realization of the Z-scheme.

In this work, a novel V-g-CN/BiVO (V-CN/BVO) Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst was formed by introducing nitrogen vacancies (V) and constructing heterojunction, which is able to efficiently degrade the representative contaminant rhodamine B (RhB) upon exposure to visible-light, resulting in an outstanding degradation rate of 98.91% of RhB within 30 min. This photocatalyst exhibits catalytic universality and allows the degradation of methylene blue (MB, 97.
