Bioremediation by phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) has attracted extensive attentions due to its economical and eco-friendly properties for lead (Pb) passivation in soil. Herein, bone char (BC) supported biochemical composite (CFB-P) carrying advantages of BC, PSB, iron sulfide (FeS) and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) was designed and applied to Pb passivation. The composite at a mass ratio of BC:CMC:FeS = 1:1:1 possessed high passivation efficiency (65.47%), and has been demonstrated to offer appropriate habitat environment for PSB to defend against Pb(II) toxicity, thus enhancing the phosphate-solubilizing amount of PSB to 140.72 mg/L for passivating Pb(II). Batch experiments showed that the CFB-P possessed excellent adsorption properties with maximal monolayer Pb(II) uptake of 452.99 mg/g during an extensive pH range of 2.0-6.0. Furthermore, by applying CFB-P dosage of 3% into Pb-contaminated soil, the labile Pb fractions were reduced from 29.05% to 6.47% after simulated remediation of 10 days, and converted into steady fractions. The CFB-P was demonstrated to achieve high Pb(II) passivation through combined functions of chemical precipitation, complexation, electrostatic attraction and biomineralization, accompanied by the formation of more stable crystal structures, for instance, Pb(PO)OH, Pb(PO) and PbS. These results suggested CFB-P as a potential alternative for efficient remediation of Pb-contaminated soil.

Finding ways to produce dense and smooth perovskite films with negligible defects is vital for achieving high-efficiency perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, we aim to enhance the quality of the perovskite films through the utilization of a multifunctional additive in the perovskite anti-solvent, a strategy referred to as anti-solvent additive engineering. Specifically, we introduce ortho-substituted-4'-(4,4″-di-tert-butyl-1,1':3',1″-terphenyl)-graphdiyne (o-TB-GDY) as an AAE additive, characterized by its sp/sp-cohybridized and highly π-conjugated structure, into the anti-solvent.

Ternary copper halides with an eco-friendly property have emerged as attractive candidates to replace toxic lead-containing perovskites for light-emitting diodes (LEDs), yet achieving long-wavelength electroluminescence remains unexplored. Herein, we report the first realization of orange-emitting LEDs (595 nm) based on nontoxic organic-inorganic PEACuI (PEA = β-phenylethylamine) films enabled by a nonionic surfactant poly(propylene glycol) bis(2-aminopropyl ether) (APPG) chemisorption. Experimental and theoretical analyses rationalize that the APPG additive has strong chemisorption with the Cu-I framework within the grain boundaries of PEACuI films, which not only improves the film's morphology but also passivates the iodine vacancy defects.

Formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI) perovskite films, ensuring optically active phase purity with uniform crystal orientation, are ideal for photovoltaic applications. However, the optically active α-FAPbI phase is easy to degrade into δ-phase due to numerous defects within randomly oriented films. Here, a "quasi-2D" perovskite template is pre-deposited on the film surface within the crystallization process based on the two-step preparation technology, which directly induced pure and highly orientated crystallization of α-FAPbI across the downward growth process.

To realize the comprehensive utilization of large amounts of high-ash coal slime and comprehensively understand the excellent performance of nutrient release and lead and cadmium adsorption of high-ash coal slime silicon composite materials, green and safe mild hydrothermal conditions (200 °C) were used to prepare the rich-rich coal slime. Zeolite/tobermorite composites (Z-TOBs) were used in this study. Batch adsorption tests and repeated extraction tests were used to determine whether silicon, potassium, and calcium nutrients of Z-TOBs have sustained release properties and are affected by pH.

Hybrid organohalide perovskites have received considerable attention due to their exceptional photovoltaic (PV) conversion efficiencies in optoelectronic devices. In this study, we report the development of a highly sensitive, self-powered perovskite-based photovoltaic photodiode (PVPD) fabricated by incorporating a poly(amic acid)-polyimide (PAA-PI) copolymer as an interfacial layer between a methylammonium lead iodide (CHNHPbI, MAPbI) perovskite light-absorbing layer and a poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT: PSS) hole injection layer. The PAA-PI interfacial layer effectively suppresses carrier recombination at the interfaces, resulting in a high power conversion efficiency () of 11.
