Background: We present a rare case of de novo renal cell carcinoma that developed in an allograft kidney 14 years after transplantation.
Case Report: A 39-year-old man underwent living donor kidney transplantation from his mother. After 14 years, routine screening ultrasonography revealed a solid mass of 30-mm diameter in the kidney allograft. Partial nephrectomy was performed by clamping the renal artery under in situ cooling. Tissue histology revealed clear cell carcinoma with negative surgical margins. We explored the tumor's genetic origin using fluorescence in situ hybridization to analyze the X and Y chromosomes of the tumor cells. Postoperative hemodialysis was avoided, and the patient's serum creatinine level remained stable.
Conclusions: Fluorescence in situ hybridization clearly indicated that the tumor originated from the donor and that the tumor vasculature originated from the recipient. The patient recovered well and remains without any tumor recurrence.

detection of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is critical for understanding its complex physiological and pathological roles. Fluorescent probes, known for their sensitivity and selectivity, are the preferred approach for such detections. Anthracene carboxyimide, an analog of naphthalimide, offers extended excitation and emission wavelengths, making it an excellent candidate for developing new fluorescent probes that address the limitations of naphthalimide.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs), covalently closed single-stranded RNAs, have been implicated in cancer progression. A previous investigation revealed that circ-ZEB1 is expressed abnormally in liver cancer. However, the roles of circ-ZEB1 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are unknown.

Purpose: Photo-immunotherapy faces challenges from poor immunogenicity and low response rate due to hypoxic microenvironment. This study presents Rh-PTZ, a small organic molecule with a D-π-A structure, that simultaneously amplifies mitochondria-targeted type-I PDT-dependent immune stimulation for the treatment of hypoxic cancer.
Methods: The hydrophobic Rh-PTZ was encapsulated into F127 to prepare Rh-PTZ nanoparticles (Rh-PTZ NPs).

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) encompasses a spectrum of liver conditions, ranging from hepatic steatosis to steatohepatitis, fibrosis, and severe outcomes such as cirrhosis or cancer. The progression from hepatic steatosis to fibrosis involves significant extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, characterized by increased collagen deposition and cross-linking of ECM proteins, causing increased tissue stiffness and altered MMP expression patterns. Dysregulated MMP expression and extracellular acidosis are key contributors to NAFLD progression.

Metastasis of alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS) to the adrenal gland is infrequent, with only eight patients reported in the literature. Here we present an ASPS in an adolescent girl presented as a hypervascular adrenal incidentaloma along with a review of the available literature. This study aims to serve as a reference to aid in the pre-operative radiological and histopathological diagnosis of this rare entity.
