While the incorporation of pendant Brønsted acid/base sites in the secondary coordination sphere is a promising and effective strategy to increase the catalytic performance and product selectivity in organometallic catalysis for CO reduction, the control of product selectivity still faces a great challenge. Herein, we report two new (Cl)-[Ru(6-X-bpy)(CO)Cl] complexes functionalized with a saturated ethylene-linked functional group (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine; X = -(CH)-OH or -(CH)-N(CH)) at the (6)-position of bpy ligand, which are named and , respectively. In the series of photolysis experiments, compared to nontethered case, the asymmetric attachment of tethering ligand to the bpy ligand led to less efficient but more selective formate production with inactivation of CO-to-CO conversion route during photoreaction. From a series of FTIR analyses, it was found that the Ru-formate intermediates are stabilized by a highly probable hydrogen bonding between pendent proton donors (-diMeNH or -OH) and the oxygen atom of metal-bound formate (Ru-OCHO···H--(CH)-, = O or diMeN). Under such conformation, the liberation of formate from the stabilized Ru-formate becomes less efficient compared to the nontethered case, consequently lowering the CO-to-formate conversion activities during photoreaction. At the same time, such stabilization of Ru-formate species prevents the dehydration reaction route (η-OCHO → η-COOH on Ru metal) which leads toward the generation of Ru-CO species (key intermediate for CO production), eventually leading to the reduction of CO-to-CO conversion activity.

This work addresses fundamental questions that deepen our understanding of secondary coordination sphere effects on carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction using derivatized hydride analogues of the type, [Cp*Fe(diphosphine)H] (Cp* = C5Me5-) - a well-studied family of organometallic complex - as models. More precisely, we describe the general reactivity of [(Cp*-BR2)Fe(diphosphine)H], which contains an intramolecularly positioned Lewis acid, and its cooperative reactivity with CO2. Control experiments underscore the critical nature of borane incorporation for CO2 to reduced products, a reaction that does not occur for unfunctionalized [Cp*Fe(diphosphine)H]).

The capacity for tissue repair during wound healing declines with age. A chronic low but systemic inflammatory status, often called "inflammaging", is considered a key factor that contributes to impaired tissue regeneration. This phenomenon has been substantiated by an increased number of immune cells in wound-tissue of old mice.

Background: Workers in home care have high sick leave rates, predominantly because of musculoskeletal pain. The Goldilocks Work Principle proposes that health should be promoted by a "just right" composition of work tasks. Weekly workloads differ substantially between home care workers, suggesting that certain workers may have workloads that are too high, impacting their musculoskeletal health.

This study presents the first complete analysis of the chemical composition of the flowers of the species and . The compounds were extracted distillation and simultaneous extraction and analysed using gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. A total of 82 compounds were identified and the results reveal significant differences in the abundance of compounds between the species.

This study aimed to identify the associations between socioeconomic factors, the social environment, and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine coverage among adolescents in the state of Minas Gerais (MG), Brazil. This ecological study utilized secondary data from 853 municipalities in MG, covering female adolescents from 2014 to 2022 and male adolescents from 2017 to 2022, as provided by the information system of the National Immunization Program. Spatial statistical analysis was conducted to assess spatial dependence and identify spatial clusters of municipalities with high and low HPV vaccine coverage.
