Ablepharon macrostomia syndrome is a rare congenital disorder caused by autosomal-dominant mutations. This condition is characterized by redundant skin, low-set ears, macrostomia, ambiguous genitalia, and underdevelopment of the both upper and lower eyelids. The shortening of the anterior lamella, septum and levator aponeurosis lead to a severe corneal exposure within the first hours of life.

Objective: To assess, clinically and instrumentally, the efficacy of a stabilized 12% Vitamin C (VC)-based serum (pH 6) on skin photoageing of women of various age and phototype.

Materials And Methods: Eighty women, with Phototypes I to VI, of various age (45-70y) living in Mauritius, participated in an open, uncontrolled study. After a two-week period of washout, they applied the Vitamin C-based serum twice a day for 2 months onto their whole face as well as a hydrating cream every evening to ensure a comparable skin hydration level in all subjects.

Introduction: Pubic hair removal (PHR) is a common practice, and many seek PHR from a skincare professional, or esthetician. Estheticians occupy a unique role in which they often have deep, trusting relationships and well-established rapport with their clientele, whereby they could serve as trusted providers of skin and beauty expertise, but also health promotion partners/facilitators. The purpose of this study is to explore the frequency of esthetician involvement regarding 7 potentially concerning health-related symptoms on their clients' skin and examine estheticians' comfort engaging in discussions about health, knowledge regarding these health issues, and interest in being more formally involved in their clients' health.
