Most childhood illnesses can be managed in the community, and parents are encouraged to attend the most suitable primary care service for their needs. Immune events such as infection, vaccination, and a combination of the two result in distinct time-dependent antibody responses in affected individuals. These responses and event prevalence combine non-trivially to govern antibody levels sampled from a population. Time-dependence and disease prevalence pose considerable modeling challenges that need to be addressed to provide a rigorous mathematical underpinning of the underlying biology.

The Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas is rich in taurine, a conditionally essential amino acid functioning in anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, anti-aging, osmoregulation, and neuromodulation. Breeding oyster varieties with enhanced taurine content is significant to meet people's demand for high-quality oysters. In the present study, polymorphisms in the oyster cysteamine dioxygenase (CgADO) gene that encodes the central enzyme of the cysteamine pathway for taurine synthesis were investigated, and their association with taurine content was assessed in the Changhai (CH) and Qinhuangdao (QHD) populations.

Cadmium (Cd) contamination in aquatic systems is a widespread environmental issue. In this study, a solid waste iron tailings and biochar hybrid (Fe-TWBC) was successfully synthesized derived from co-pyrolysis of peanut shell and tailing waste (Fe-TW). Characterization analyses showed that the metal oxides from solid waste iron tailings successfully loaded onto the biochar surface, with more functional groups in Fe-TWBC.
