The Authors review the various techniques used in closing and draining the pelvic basin after total resection of the rectum due to neoplastic and/or inflammatory disease. The examine their experience with 248 cases of total resection of the rectum and propose closure of the perineal breach as the first step in through closure of the pelvic peritoneum.

Complications such as injuries to the cervix and bladder, and premature membrane rupture are well-documented, while genitourinary fistulas are a rare occurrence. Background: Fournier gangrene is a rare, life-threatening infection characterized by necrotizing fasciitis in the perineal, genital and/or lower abdominal regions. Despite its rarity, the unfavorable prognosis associated with this disease is dependent on the timing of medical care.
Case Summary: A 3-month-old boy was admitted to our pediatric intensive care unit in critical condition after a 5-day history of fever and scrotal erythema with breaching skin lesions and swelling.

Background: In high altitude areas, like Tibet, most fetuses in breech presentation at term are delivered vaginally owing to a variety of reasons, but this has not been published.
Objective: This study aimed to provide references and evidence for the delivery of breach presentation term fetuses in high altitude areas, through comparing and analyzing the data of full-term singleton fetuses with breech or cephalic presentation in Naqu People's Hospital, Tibet.
Study Design: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 451 breech presentation fetuses mentioned above over a period of 5 years (2016-2020).
Diverting ostomy is a commonly perfomed procedure but may be associated to its own morbidity (early or late complications). Colostomy-related evisceration is a rare but potentially life threatening condition (requiring emergency surgery), relatively undocumented for its mechanisms.
