We performed a study of the initial and long term light yield of different scintillation screen mixtures for neutron imaging during constant neutron irradiation. We evaluated the light yield during different neutron flux levels as well as at different temperatures. As high frame rate imaging is a topic of interest in the neutron imaging community, the decay characteristics of scintillation screens are of interest as well. Hence, we also present and discuss the decay behavior of the different scintillation screen mixtures on a time scale of seconds. We have found that the decay time of ZnS:Cu/LiF excited with a high neutron flux is potentially much longer than typically stated. While most of the tested scintillation screens do not provide a significant improvement over currently used scintillation screen materials, Zn(Cd)S:Ag/LiF seems to be a good candidate for high frame rate imaging due to its high light yield, long-term stability as well as fast decay compared to the other evaluated scintillation screens.

Nitrogen doped Carbon Quantum Dots (NCQDs) have been synthesized using most economical and easiest hydrothermal process. Here, N-phenyl orthophenylenediamine and citric acid were utilised as a source of nitrogen and carbon for the preparation of NCQDs. The synthesized NCQDs were characterized using experimental techniques like UV - Vis absorption, FT-IR, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), EDX, dynamic light scattering (DLS), fluorimeter and time resolved fluorescence spectroscopy.

Due to the diverse chemical and physical properties of functional groups, mild and controllable ligation methods are often required to construct complex drugs and functional materials. To make diverse sets of products with tunable physicochemical properties, it is also useful to employ complimentary ligation methods that adopt the same starting materials. Here, we disclose the efficient and modular synthesis of amides or thioamides through the chemical ligation of acyl silanes with amines, simply by turning a light on or off.

Liquid crystal monomers (LCMs), the integral components in the manufacture of digital displays, have engendered environmental concerns due to extensive utilization and intensive emission. Despite their prevalence and ecotoxicity, the LCM impacts on plant growth and agricultural yield remain inadequately understood. In this study, we investigated the specific response mechanisms of tobacco, a pivotal agricultural crop and model plant, to four representative LCMs (2OdF3B, 5CB, 4PiMeOP, 2BzoCP) through integrative molecular and physiological approaches.

Fast Fourier Transform-based Space-Time Image Velocimetry (FFT-STIV) has gained considerable attention due to its accuracy and efficiency. However, issues such as false detection of MOT and blind areas lead to significant errors in complex environments. This paper analyzes the causes of FFT-STIV gross errors and then proposes a method for validity identification and rectification of FFT-STIV results.

To address the shortcomings of light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensors in extracting road surface elevation information in front of a vehicle, a scheme for digital terrain construction based on the fusion of an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and LiDAR perception is proposed. First, two sets of sensor coordinate systems were configured, and the parameters of LiDAR and IMU were calibrated. Then, a terrain construction system based on the fusion perception of IMU and LiDAR was established, and improvements were made to the state estimation and mapping architecture.
