Background: Lipid metabolism disorders are among the most common metabolic diseases that are increasing globally and are associated with chronic metabolic disturbances. The present study aimed to determine the knowledge and practice of internal medicine physicians concerning lipid disorders according to the AHA, AACE, ESC-EAS, and NCEP-ATP-III guidelines.
Methods: This descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study selected a convenience sample of 220 internal medicine specialists from January through September 2021 in Tehran and some other Iranian cities.

In the context of Acute Pulmonary Edema (APE), the old school moto was LMNOP, for "Lasix-Morphine-Nitrates-Oxygen-Positive Pressure". However, this mnemonic, while not entirely inaccurate, deserves revision or at least a slight reinterpretation. APE remains a well-known condition in emergency departments, with a high mortality rate.

Aims: We aim to evaluate the incidence of atrial fibrillation (AF) in a large real-world cohort of patients implanted with an insertable cardiac monitor (ICM) who had a clinical history of symptomatic heart failure (HF) with reduced or preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF).
Methods: Patients with an ICM and a history of HF events were identified from the Optum® de-identified Electronic Health Record dataset merged with an ICM device dataset collected during 2007-2021. All ICM-detected AF episodes that were available with ≥30-s of ECG at onset were adjudicated using artificial intelligence (AI model).

Objective: To understand the theoretical dimensions of nursing-midwifery care for women in labor during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Method: A qualitative study with 40 nurse-midwives. Data were collected from May to July 2021, through interviews, subjected to thematic content analysis and discussed in light of Jean Watson's Theory of Transpersonal Human Caring.
