STUDY OF ORBITAL NEOPLASMS BY MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING PROCEDURE.

Georgian Med News

October 2024

2Tbilisi State Medical University, Clinical Professor, Tbilisi, Georgia.

The neoplasms of the organ of vision are characterized by significant polymorphism, which is due to the histological diversity of the structures in the eye socket. Almost all types of neoplasms described in humans are found in the orbit. The study aimed to determine the diagnostic value of magnetic resonance imaging in patients with tumors in the eyeball and the eye socket, as well as to determine the superiority of the MRI procedure compared to other instrumental methods of research.

Unlabelled: Primary central nervous system vasculitis is still a challenge due to rarity of disease, unspecific clinical and neurological presentation, as well as low specificity of MRI and laboratory tests.

Objective: To present the potential of hybrid neuroimaging in diagnosis of primary central nervous system vasculitis.

Material And Methods: The results of MRI, PET/CT with 11C-methionine, histological and immunochemical data in a 23-year-old patient with first-time epileptic seizure are demonstrated.

The significant prevalence of periodontal diseases in elderly patients makes the research relevant. By now, the issues of complex clinical and radiological semiotics of generalized periodontitis using high-tech research methods is not sufficiently studied. The research addressed the clinical picture and three-dimensional computed tomographic semiotics of severe chronic generalized periodontitis focusing 25 elderly patients with severe chronic generalized periodontitis.

Report of intraosseous intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia associated with an odontogenic cyst in the maxilla and literature review.

Diagn Pathol

June 2024

Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Biosciences and Oral Diagnosis, São Paulo State University (UNESP), São José dos Campos Av. Engenheiro Francisco José Longo Avenue, 777/778, Jardim São Dimas, São José dos Campos, SP, 12245000, Brazil.

Intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia (IPEH) represents an uncommon reactive endothelial hyperplastic proliferation. A 46-year-old man experienced increased volume in the right maxilla, elevation of the nasal ala, and swelling of the hard palate with a reddish hue for 3 months. Computed tomography revealed an expansive hypodense region and cortical bone destruction associated with an impacted supernumerary tooth and an endodontically treated tooth.

In translational animal study aimed at evaluation of the effectiveness of innovative methods for treating cerebral stroke, including regenerative cell technologies, of particular importance is evaluation of the dynamics of changes in the volume of the cerebral infarction in response to therapy. Among the methods for assessing the focus of infarction, MRI is the most effective and convenient tool for use in preclinical studies. This review provides a description of MR pulse sequences used to visualize cerebral ischemia at various stages of its development, and a detailed description of the MR semiotics of cerebral infarction.
