We first describe two examples of highly luminescent organoboranes ( and ) with dual chirality that were achieved by molecular functionalization of planar chiral pillar[5]arenes with naphthyls. Sufficiently strong steric effects are imposed by triarylamine (ArN) and triarylborane (ArB) moieties and further enhanced by the proximity of the chiral building blocks, leading to the isolation of multiple enantiomers via chiral high-performance liquid chromatography. The intramolecular charge transfer from N-donor to B-acceptor across both chiral subunits enabled the circularly polarized luminescence and thermally robust colorimetric responses in their emissions. Furthermore, their remarkable host-guest chemistry was allowed at no expense in the pursuit of advanced chiroptical properties using pillar[5]arene-based supramolecular scaffolds.

Cyclodextrins can serve as carriers for various payloads, utilizing their capacity to form unique host-guest inclusion complexes within their cavity and their versatile surface functionalization. Recently, cationic cyclodextrins have gained considerable attention, as they can improve drug permeability across negatively charged cell membranes and efficiently condense negatively charged nucleic acid due to electrostatic interactions. This review focuses on state-of-the-art and recent advances in the construction of cationic cyclodextrin-based delivery systems.

Peptide-based therapy is appealing in modern medicine owing to its high activity and excellent biocompatibility. Poor stability, leading to unacceptable bioavailability, severely constrains its clinical application. Here, we proposed a general supramolecular approach for improving the plasma resistance of a commercially available peptide agent, thymopentin.

Non-ionic surfactants are an important solvent in the field of green chemistry with tremendous application potential. Understanding their phase properties in bulk or in confined environments is of high commercial value. In recent years, the combination of molecular dynamics (MD) simulations with multinuclear solid-state NMR spectroscopy and calorimetric techniques has evolved into the most powerful tool for their investigation.

Exploring the energetics and bimolecular interaction of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) with various classes and generations of antibiotics in the absence and presence of a resorcinol based acridinedione dye (ADR1) were carried out. The binding stability of BSA-antibiotic complexes decreases on the introduction of ADR1 dye resulting in a positive value of free energy change, accompanied with several unfavourable interactions. Several polar amino acids contributed to the stability of the host-guest complex compared to that of non-polar amino acids, wherein BSA acts as the host, and antibiotics as the guest and ADR1 dye as the competing guest molecule.

Achieving the adsorptive separation and chromatographic separation of industrially the important chemicals toluene and methylcyclohexane using the same material is a highly desirable goal. We have successfully accomplished this using a fluorinated macrocycle tetrafluoroterphen[3]arene (4FTP3), which was synthesized and used for gas chromatographic separation in our previous work. The macrocycle 4FTP3 permitted the adsorptive separation of toluene from a toluene/methylcyclohexane mixture (1:1, v/v) with a purity of 99.
