Introduction: Nursing home (NH) residents have an elevated risk of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection and severe outcomes. However, literature regarding outbreak outcomes at the facility level is limited.
Methods: NH outbreaks beginning between March 1, 2020, and February 22, 2022, at facilities under Los Angeles County jurisdiction were assigned to 1 of 6 time periods defined by dominant variants, surges in community transmission, and vaccination levels.

People's risk of contracting seasonal influenza increased after COVID-19 control measures were relaxed. This study investigated the changes in seasonal influenza vaccination (SIV) uptake and its determinants among older adults during and after the COVID-19 period. Two rounds of random telephone surveys were conducted among 440 and 373 community-living individuals aged ≥65 y, the first between November 2021 and January 2022 and the second between October 2023 and January 2024.

In this 13-month follow-up study, we examined a cohort of vaccinated healthcare workers without prior SARS-CoV-2 infection to assess the humoral and cellular response to the BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine over time. We measured median immunoglobulin G and lymphocyte subpopulation levels after the first and second doses, at five months post-second dose, and before and after the third dose. Our findings evinced a remarkable initial cellular and humoral response to each vaccine dose, although a progressive decline suggests the potential need for long-term booster doses.
