Embracing failure for the purpose of learning is a key trait in successful teams. Failure, however, is not the only source of learning. The majority of interventions in healthcare are successful, yet our prevailing efforts to extract learning intelligence tend to focus almost exclusively on failures, such as harm and errors. By considering the learning potential across the whole landscape of work from success to failure, we can widen the range of learning opportunities. The key steps to learn from excellence are first to recognise excellence, which can be highly subjective, and second to provide positive feedback. Positive feedback enhances learning through a number of routes, including increasing self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation. It may also help to improve relationships within teams and to offset negativity associated with blame cultures.

Sepsis is a life-threatening disease characterized by excessive systemic inflammation and coagulopathy. Platelets and neutrophils form a "dangerous alliance" through crosstalk, promoting the inflammatory cytokine storm and coagulation disorders during sepsis. Platelet-neutrophil crosstalk leads to the formation of platelet-neutrophil complexes (PNCs), which are the central "protagonists" of this "dangerous alliance.

Background: The prognosis for patients with several types of cancer has substantially improved following the introduction of immune checkpoint inhibitors, a novel type of immunotherapy. However, patients may experience symptoms both from the cancer itself and from the medication. A prototype of the eHealth tool Cancer Patients Better Life Experience (CAPABLE) was developed to facilitate symptom management, aimed at patients with melanoma and renal cell carcinoma treated with immunotherapy.

Background: The internet is a key source of health information, but the quality of content from popular search engines varies, posing challenges for users-especially those with low health or digital health literacy. To address this, the "tala-med" search engine was developed in 2020 to provide access to high-quality, evidence-based content. It prioritizes German health websites based on trustworthiness, recency, user-friendliness, and comprehensibility, offering category-based filters while ensuring privacy by avoiding data collection and advertisements.

The tumor suppressor p53, in its wild-type form, plays a central role in cellular homeostasis by regulating senescence, apoptosis, and autophagy within the DNA damage response (DDR). Recent findings suggest that wild-type p53 also governs ferroptosis, an iron-dependent cell death process driven by lipid peroxidation. Post-translational modifications of p53 generate proteoforms that significantly enhance its functional diversity in regulating these mechanisms.

The study of the predictive ability of a marker is mainly based on the accuracy measures provided by the so-called confusion matrix. Besides, the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve has become a popular index for summarizing the overall accuracy of a marker. However, the nature of the relationship between the marker and the outcome, and the role that potential confounders play in this relationship could be fundamental in order to extrapolate the observed results.
