Comparative evaluation of SBRs under different modes (AX/O, AN/AX/O, AN/O/AX, O/AX) with same aniline wastewater arrangements, presenting the startup and performance differences of reactors. The results revealed that the four systems realized the efficient aniline and NH-N removal on the basis of sufficient aerobic time. Anaerobic aniline degradation was also achieved in the first three reactors after acclimation. The denitrification efficiency was the highest in O/AX reactor and the lowest in AN/O/AX due to mode sequence setup. Pollutants variations in the typical cycles experimental data combined with microbial diversity analysis were highlighted that aerobic denitrification contributed the most under O/AX mode, while the other three modes relied on anoxic denitrification. Meanwhile, low nitrifiers and aerobic denitrifiers abundance might be another reason for the poor denitrification of AN/O/AX mode. It was inferred that denitrification was most susceptible to operation mode sequences.

How low should we go? Outcomes of ECMO in neonates with low gestational age or birth weight.

Pediatr Surg Int

January 2025

Division of Pediatric Surgery, Department of Surgery, University of Florida College of Medicine, PO Box 100119, Gainesville, FL, 32610-0119, USA.

Purpose: Initial recommendations for ECMO had relative contraindications for low birth weight (BW) or low gestational age (GA) babies. However, more recent literature has demonstrated improved and acceptable outcomes of ECMO in smaller neonates. The purpose of this study was to understand both utilization and survival in patients with lower GA and BW.

In order to solve the limitations of flipped classroom in personalized teaching and interactive effect improvement, this paper designs a new model of flipped classroom in colleges and universities based on Virtual Reality (VR) by combining the algorithm of Contrastive Language-Image Pre-Training (CLIP). Through cross-modal data fusion, the model deeply combines students' operation behavior with teaching content, and improves teaching effect through intelligent feedback mechanism. The test data shows that the similarity between video and image modes reaches 0.

Background: Normothermic ex situ heart perfusion (ESHP) has emerged as a valid modality for advanced cardiac allograft preservation and conditioning prior to transplantation though myocardial function declines gradually during ESHP thus limiting its potential for expanding the donor pool. Recently, the utilization of dialysis has been shown to preserve myocardial and coronary vasomotor function. Herein, we sought to determine the changes in myocardial metabolism that could support this improvement.

Dynamic cycles between brain states during creative storytelling.

Many theories suggest that creative thinking involves a dynamic transition between different mental states, yet empirical evidence supporting this notion remains scarce. The dual process model proposes that spontaneous thinking and deliberate thinking drive the dwell in and the transitions between different mental states during creative thinking, but there is a debate over whether the two types of thinking operate in parallel or in sequence. To address these gaps, we conducted a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study in 41 college students during a creative storytelling task.

The study aimed to compare the effects of different types of excimer laser keratectomy on rabbit corneas and to identify the optimal disease model for corneal ectasia. Additionally, investigating the structural and molecular alterations in the novel disease model helped explore the mechanisms underlying biomechanical cues in corneal ectasia. 2.
