Background: Effective interventions to reduce drowning incidents require accurate and reliable data for scientific analysis. However, the lack of high-quality evidence and the variability in drowning terminology, definitions, and outcomes present significant challenges in assessing studies to inform drowning guidelines. Many drowning reports use inappropriate classifications for drowning incidents, which significantly contributes to the underreporting of drowning.

Background: Cardiac Computed Tomography (CCT) is increasingly used to provide 2D, 3D and 4D information in patients with congenital heart disease of all ages. Historically, negotiated rates for professional and technical fees associated with cardiac imaging were confidential, with variability in professional, technical and global charges, reimbursement and cost to patients for the same current procedural terminology (CPT) code at different institutions. Billing transparency is a key component of both the CARE act passed in 2020 and the Health Care PRICE Transparency Act 2.

Objectives: The Gout, Hyperuricaemia and Crystal-Associated Disease Network (G-CAN) has developed a calcium pyrophosphate deposition (CPPD) nomenclature project. This systematic literature review constituted its first step and aimed to provide a state-of-the-art analysis of the medical literature of the last 20 years.
Methods: A systematic literature search was undertaken in the , and databases between 2000 and 2022, restricted to studies on humans and in the English language.

Background And Aim: Prior investigations of the natural history of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) have been constrained by small sample sizes or uneven assessments of aggregated data. Natural language processing (NLP) can significantly enhance the investigation and treatment of patients with AAAs by swiftly and effectively collecting imaging data from health records. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy of NLP techniques in reliably identifying the existence or absence of AAAs and measuring the maximal abdominal aortic diameter in extensive datasets of radiology study reports.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the accuracy of the Relative Value Update Committee (RUC) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services current times and work relative value units (wRVUs) for the perioperative work involved in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction by directly timing perioperative tasks as they occur in real time.
Methods: The RUC was contacted to obtain a list of perioperative tasks and the corresponding times allotted for the tasks involved in arthroscopically aided ACL reconstruction (Current Procedural Terminology code 29888). The tasks that occurred both inside and outside the operating room were timed by the attending physician as the event occurred.
