Advancements in NMDA Receptor-Targeted Antidepressants: From d-Cycloserine Discovery to Preclinical Efficacy of Lu AF90103.

J Med Chem

November 2024

Neuroscience Drug Discovery Denmark, H. Lundbeck A/S, 9 Ottiliavej, Valby, DK-2500 Copenhagen, Denmark.

The discovery of d-cycloserine (), a partial agonist of the NMDA receptor that exhibits antidepressant effects without the psychotomimetic effects of ketamine, has fueled interest in new NMDA-targeting antidepressants. Our objective was to identify potent partial agonists mirroring , particularly tailored for the GluN2B subtype of the NMDA receptor. Through a structure-based drug design approach, we discovered compound .

Do new lakes behave like natural lakes regarding sediment composition and phosphorus fluxes?

Sci Total Environ

October 2024

Department of Biology, University of Southern Denmark, Campusvej 55, DK-5230 Odense M, Denmark. Electronic address:

Numerous new lakes have been established during the last few decades. Lakes established on former agricultural soils often have high legacy phosphorus (P)-content, which constitutes a risk for potential internal P-loading after the lake is formed. In this study, we compared the P release and sediment P-pools from 31 new lakes and 31 natural lakes, to assess their similarities and differences.

NatIonal Danish endocarditis stUdieS - Design and objectives of the NIDUS registry.

Am Heart J

February 2024

Department of Cardiology, Copenhagen University Hospital - Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark; Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Aims: The NatIonal Danish endocarditis stUdieS (NIDUS) registry aims to investigate the mechanisms contributing to the increasing incidence of infective endocarditis (IE) and to discover risk factors associated to the course, treatment and clinical outcomes of the disease.

Methods: The NIDUS registry was created to investigate a nationwide unselected group of patients hospitalized for IE. The National Danish healthcare registries have been queried for validated IE diagnosis codes (International Classification of Disease, 10 edition [ICD-10]: DI33, DI38, and DI398).

Two novel prehabilitation apps to help patients stop smoking and risky drinking prior to hip and knee arthroplasty.

Int Orthop

November 2023

Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Hospital Clinic Barcelona and Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain.

Purpose: Daily smoking or risky drinking increases the risk of complications after surgery by ~50%. Intensive prehabilitation aimed at complete cessation reduces the complication rate but is time-consuming. The purpose of this study was to carry out preoperative pilot tests (randomized design) of the feasibility (1A) and validation (1B) of two novel prehabilitation apps, habeat® (Ha-app) or rehaviour® (Re-app).

Objectives: We aimed to compare cell-based NIPT (cbNIPT) to chorionic villus sampling (CVS) and to examine the test characteristics of cbNIPT in the first clinical validation study of cbNIPT compared to cell-free NIPT (cfNIPT).

Material And Methods: Study 1: Women (N = 92) who accepted CVS were recruited for cbNIPT (53 normal and 39 abnormal). Samples were analyzed with chromosomal microarray (CMA).
