A new acentric borate, K Na [{B O (OH)}-{B O (OH) }] ⋅ H O (1) has been made under solvothermal condition. 1 has layered structure made by B O (OH)-based chains and B O (OH) -bridging clusters. Second-harmonic generation (SHG) measurements reveal that 1 is a phase-matchable nonlinear optical (NLO) material, showing the SHG signal intensity of 1.8 times that of KDP (KH PO ). Besides, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectrum shows that 1 has the short deep UV (DUV) absorption cutoff edge of 198 nm. Thermogravimetric analysis reveals it has good thermal stability. Also 1 represents firstly mixed oxoboron clusters-made 2D layered borate with NLO property.

An idea of using ion-exchanger salt containing optically active cations to prepare ion-selective membranes is proposed. Although the presence of an ion-exchanger in the composition of neutral ionophore based sensors is necessary, the choice of available salts for cation-selective sensors preparation, is usually limited to sodium or potassium compounds. In this work we propose application of an alternative salt, using a cation optically active both in absorption and emission mode as a mobile one.

Zinc (Zn), boron (B), and molybdenum (Mo) are micronutrients, essential to crops, which can be efficiently applied to crops via seed coatings. However, fast micronutrient release from soluble seed coatings brings seedling toxicity risks. Hence, this study developed novel Zn-B-Mo slow-release seed coating compounds, i.

With the increasing attention to energy storage solutions, a growing emphasis has been placed on environmentally compatible electrolytes tailored for lithium-ion batteries. This study investigates the surface behavior of Si wafers as model systems cycled with a fluorine-free electrolyte based on lithium bis(oxalato)borate (LiBOB), with and without the additive vinylene carbonate (VC). By utilizing operando X-ray reflectivity (XRR) and ex situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), the intricate processes involved in solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) formation is elucidated, SiO/Si (de)lithiation, and the impact of the VC additive.

Two borates, NaK[BO(OH)]·HO () and NaK[{BO}{BO}{BO(OH)}]·2HO () have been designed and made under solvothermal conditions. Compound exhibits a 2D fluctuant layer based on the [BO(OH)] clusters, containing two types of 9-membered ring (MR) channels and showing a four-connected sql topology net. By modifying the reactants and reaction temperature, compound was obtained from compound .

Developing efficient non-noble metal dual-functional electrocatalysts for overall water splitting is essential for the production of green hydrogen. Given the significant advantages of self-supporting electrodes, regulating the growth of self-supporting nanoarrays on a conductive substrate is conducive to improving the electrocatalytic activity. In this work, aligned cobalt phosphide (CoP) nanowire arrays grown on borate-modified Ni foam substrate (CoP/R-NF) were utilized as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for both hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) and oxygen evolution reactions (OER) in alkaline solution.
