AI Article Synopsis

  • The study aimed to explore nursing faculty's views on meaningful recognition and its role in fostering a supportive academic environment.
  • Research indicates that a positive work atmosphere is crucial for attracting and keeping nursing faculty, but there's limited information on how recognition affects workplace dynamics.
  • Findings revealed that meaningful recognition enhances workplace caring, boosts faculty motivation, and positively influences their professional roles, emphasizing that recognition should be genuine, performance-aligned, proportionate to effort, and individualized.

Article Abstract

Aim: The purpose of this study was to understand nursing faculty's perceptions of meaningful recognition and how it contributes to a caring academic climate.

Background: A supportive, healthy work environment is critical in recruiting and retaining nursing faculty. Research on caring for faculty through meaningful recognition and the impact on the workplace climate is limited.

Method: The study employed a parallel mixed-methods design in which quantitative and qualitative findings were integrated into synthesized conclusions. A total of 193 full-time faculty participated in the survey portion of the study; 15 full- and part-time faculty participated in video-conferenced focus groups.

Results: Results of this study demonstrated that meaningful recognition contributes to a caring workplace, motivates faculty work performance, and impacts faculty roles in positive ways.

Conclusion: For recognition to be meaningful, it must be genuine, aligned with faculty's perceptions of performance, commensurate with level of effort, and relevant to individuals.

The diagnosis and early identification of intratracheal tumors relies on the experience of the operators and the specialists. Operations by physicians with insufficient experience may lead to misdiagnosis or misjudgment of tumors. To address this issue, a datasets for intratracheal tumor detection has been constructed to simulate the diagnostic level of experienced specialists, and a Knowledge Distillation-based Memory Feature Unsupervised Anomaly Detection (KD-MFAD) model was proposed to learn from this simulated experience.

Background: Although stress plays a key role in tinnitus and decreased sound tolerance, conventional hearing devices used to manage these conditions are not currently capable of monitoring the wearer's stress level. The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility of stress monitoring with an in-ear device.

Method: In-ear heartbeat sounds and clinical-grade electrocardiography (ECG) signals were simultaneously recorded while 30 healthy young adults underwent a stress protocol.

Complexity and reproductive plasticity are very well-known characteristics of anurans. The group is being continuously explored taxonomically and phylogenetically, which leads to a great potential diversity not yet uncovered. This is particularly evident due to the lack of investigation regarding species-specific traits, even the ones well distributed in the lineages as polyandry.
