Acute repetitive seizures, also called seizure clusters, are common phenomena in patients with epilepsy. They are a burden on patients and their caregivers and may be very disruptive to the patients' lives. They may progress to prolonged seizures or status epilepticus if they are not aborted as soon as possible. However, their definition, recognition, and classification still suffer from a lack of consensus among healthcare professionals in the field. This review aims to shed light on various aspects of seizure clusters with particular attention to their treatments.

Background: The bidirectional relationship between epilepsy and sleep is well characterized in humans but has not been thoroughly explored in dogs.
Objective: Evaluate sleep differences between dogs with idiopathic epilepsy and healthy controls and determine associations among epilepsy characteristics, antiseizure medications (ASMs), and sleep.
Animals: Sixty-four dogs with idiopathic epilepsy and 64 non-epileptic control dogs matched by age, breed, and sex.

Objective: Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) has been recognized as a network disorder with widespread gray matter atrophy. However, the role of connectome architecture in shaping morphological alterations and identifying atrophy epicenters remains unclear. Furthermore, individualized modeling of atrophy epicenters and their potential clinical applications have not been well established.

Background: New Onset Refractory Status Epilepticus (NORSE) is a neurological emergency with high mortality. Cryptogenic NORSE (cNORSE) is defined by a lack of an identifiable structural, toxic or metabolic etiology despite extensive workup. Survivors often develop significant long-term neurological sequelae and drug-resistant epilepsy.

Congenital disorders of glycosylation (CDG) are a cluster of monogenic disorders resulting from defects in glycosylation. encodes fucokinase, an enzyme that catalyzes the phosphorylation of L-fucose to generate fucose-1-phosphate, an important step in fucosylation. Mutations in lead to CDG with an autosomal recessive inheritance pattern, primarily manifesting as developmental delay, hypotonia, and brain abnormalities.

Purpose: This study retrospectively analyzed preoperative arterial spin labeling (ASL) perfusion MRI data of patients with the temporal-insula type of temporal plus epilepsy (TI-TPE). We aimed to investigate the differences in presurgical cerebral blood flow (CBF) changes in TI-TPE patients with different surgical outcomes.
Method: A total of 48 TI-TPE patients confirmed by SEEG were meticulously reviewed for this study.
