Carbon-centered radicals can be stabilized by delocalization of their spin density into the vacant p orbital of a boron substituent. α-Vinyl boronates, in particular pinacol (Bpin) derivatives, are excellent hydrogen atom acceptors. Under H , in the presence of a cobaloxime catalyst, they generate α-boryl radicals; these species can undergo 5-exo radical cyclizations if appropriate double bond acceptors are present, leading to densely functionalized heterocycles with tertiary substituents on Bpin. The reaction shows good functional group tolerance with wide scope, and the resulting boronate products can be converted into other useful functionalities.

Prostate cancer, a common malignancy in older men, often requires laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, considered the gold standard treatment. However, postoperative complications can significantly impact quality of life and psychological well-being. The emergence of mobile internet health management offers a promising approach for accessible and effective post-discharge care.

Oxidative stress, characterized by the damaging accumulation of free radicals, is associated with various diseases, including cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, and metabolic disorders. The transcription factor Nrf2 is pivotal in cellular defense against oxidative stress by regulating genes that detoxify free radicals, thus maintaining redox homeostasis and preventing cellular aging. Keap1 plays a regulatory role through its interaction with Nrf2, ensuring Nrf2 degradation under homeostatic conditions and facilitating its stabilization and nuclear translocation during oxidative stress.

Background: Acute ischemia in the hind extremities is a dangerous disease that causes irreversible damage. Revascularization procedures are important to prevent muscle damage, but these treatments may induce additional damage, also known as ischemia-reperfusion injury. The role of free radicals as pivotal mediators of ischemia-reperfusion injury remains a prominent hypothesis.

Although angiotensin 1-7 (Ang 1-7) and its role as a part of the "protective" axis of the renin-angiotensin system are well described in the literature, the mechanisms of its angiotensin II-like pressor and tachycardic effects following its acute central administration are not fully understood. It was the aim of the present study to examine which receptors contribute to the aforementioned cardiovascular effects. Ang 1-7 and antagonists for glutamate, GABA, vasopressin, thromboxane A (TP), α-adrenergic, and P2X purinoceptors or modulators of oxidative stress were injected into the paraventricular nucleus of the hypothalamus (PVN) of urethane-anesthetized male Wistar rats.
