Psoriasis is polygenic, interleukin (IL)-17 and IL-23 driven chronic relapsing inflammatory multisystem disease caused by a complex interplay of endogenous and environmental factors. The most common and distressing symptom in psoriasis is itch, adding significantly to the burden of disease. Although histamine has historically not been considered a key itch mediator in psoriasis, there is some evidence from the literature that antihistamines may be effective to reduce itch in psoriasis. This review focuses on the role of antihistamines in the management of itch in psoriasis. The literature search included peer-reviewed articles published in English language (clinical trials or scientific reviews). Studies were identified by searching electronic databases (MEDLINE and PubMed) until January 2021 and by reference lists of respective articles. J Drugs Dermatol. 2021;20(8):844-847. doi:10.36849/JDD.5966.

Introduction: Palmoplantar psoriasis (PPp) has a profound negative impact on patients' quality of life, and it represents a therapeutic challenge, as palms and soles are difficult to treat area. Although the efficacy profile of tildrakizumab has been well evaluated in the literature, data on its use for PPp are still limited. The objective of the study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tildrakizumab on moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis with involvement of the palmoplantar area.

Background: Generalised pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a chronic, systemic, neutrophilic inflammatory disease. A previous Delphi panel established areas of consensus on GPP, although patient perspectives were not included, and aspects of treatment goals remain unclear.

Objectives: To identify and achieve consensus on refined, specific treatment goals for GPP treatment via a Delphi panel with patient participation.

Psoriasis is associated with psychological distress among the affected due to unsightly skin lesions, chronicity and the cultural and social stigma linked with the disease. The pathophysiological link between psoriasis and depression creates a vicious cycle in the skin and brain axis. This study evaluates the psychological comorbidity of patients with chronic plaque psoriasis (CPP).

Purpose: Patients' treatment expectations significantly influence the effectiveness of medical and pharmacological treatments. This clinical proof-of-concept study aimed to enhance treatment outcomes by targeting positive treatment expectations of psoriasis patients beginning systemic anti-psoriatic therapy with secukinumab, an interleukin (IL)-17A antagonist.

Patients And Methods: We randomly assigned patients to three groups: a treatment as usual (TAU) group receiving the standard 300mg dose of secukinumab, a dose-control (DC) group with 75% dose reduction and an experimental (EXP) group receiving the same reduced dose along with a "cover story" designed to positively influence treatment expectations.
