Sizing emulsions used as glass fiber surface treatments in composites manufacturing are aqueous suspensions of hydrophobic film formers, surface coupling agents, and surfactants. We employ all-atom molecular dynamics simulations to characterize droplet structures in several aqueous blends of the film-former diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A, coupling agent glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane, and a triblock copolymer surfactant (Pluronic L35 PEO/PPO copolymer). We show that the quasi-equilibrium states of emulsion droplets are invariant to different initial configurations. We examine the role of the surfactant in determining coupling agent partitioning between the droplet shell and corona and coupling agent cluster size distributions. This work takes a step toward systematic understanding of the sizing chemistry to optimize the interface between the glass and the resin in commercially relevant composites.

Toad venom, a family of toxic yet pharmacologically valuable biotoxins, has long been utilized in traditional medicine and holds significant promise in modern drug development. Bufotalin, a prominent bufotoxin, has demonstrated potent cytotoxic properties through mechanisms such as apoptosis induction, cell cycle arrest, endoplasmic reticulum stress activation, and inhibition of metastasis by modulating key pathways including Akt, p53, and STAT3/EMT signaling-these multi-target mechanisms position bufotalin as a promising agent to combat multidrug resistance in cancer therapy. Additionally, advances in bufotalin synthesis, including chemical and biocatalytic methods, have streamlined production, with strategies such as C14-α-hydroxylation and novel coupling techniques enhancing yield and reducing environmental impact.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the impact of the pathogen's sensitivity to the loaded antibiotics on infection resolution, the number of revisions, and the associated costs in patients undergoing revision total knee arthroplasty (rTKA) due to PJI.
Material And Methods: We reviewed the treatment and follow-up processes of 61 patients who underwent rTKA for late-stage PJI following primary total knee arthroplasty in our clinic. The study included 11 patients in the resistant group and 50 in the sensitive group in line with the power analysis results.

Intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy reduce morbidity and improve functional outcome in ischemic stroke. However, acute recanalization therapies may increase the risk of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage due to its effects on the brain tissue. An increasing proportion of patients with ischemic stroke are using direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs).

The achievement of sufficient dispersion of vulcanization accelerators is critical to tailoring superior cross-linked elastomers. Modern recipes rely on multicomponent formulations with silica particles covered by coupling agents. We study the molecular properties of select accelerators in polyisoprene melts and their affinity for functionalized surfaces via extensive all-atom molecular dynamics simulations.
