After taking an estrogen-containing supplement derived from a tropical plant , a 24-year-old woman presented marked QT prolongation and repetitive torsade de pointes. The patient was found to carry a heterozygous KCNQ1-T587M mutation. This is the first report on -related acquired long QT syndrome.

Women experience several systemic changes over all stages of life, many due to hormonal fluctuations. The sensation of dry mouth is the most common oral clinical symptom in women from climacteric period onwards, suggesting that sex hormones are important in maintaining salivary glands and oral homeostasis. Although the oral cavity is not conventional considered a target tissue for oestrogen, the extent to which salivary glands morphology and function are impacted by ageing and hormonal variations remain unknown.

Bone metastases occur in the majority of advanced breast cancer patients, and the most common complications are osteolytic bone metastases. However, due to the limitations of models and methodologies for bone metastasis studies, the intricacies of bone metastasis have not been fully acknowledged and revealed in prior work. Here, we have studied the possible attenuation efficiency of quercetin against magnetite nanoparticles-induced apoptosis in ovarian. Forty female rats were divided equally into control, quercetin (100 mg/kg), magnetite nanoparticles (50 mg/kg), and magnetite nanoparticles+quercetin, where all rats received their doses for four weeks.
