Rationale: Preparation of in-house reference materials (RMs) is an important aspect of light element stable isotope analysis. While some relevant information is available, there is as yet no clear set of guidelines available covering all aspects of in-house production and characterization of RMs.
Methods: To address this need, the experience of production of certified reference materials under accreditation to ISO 17034:2016 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 has been distilled into guidance for production of in-house RMs that are fit-for-purpose.
Results: The guidance provided covers five areas: (i) planning; (ii) material considerations including preparation, packaging, and storage; (iii) measurements and assessments; (iv) value and uncertainty assignment; and (v) monitoring and use.
Conclusions: In-house RMs prepared by following this guidance can be used to provide traceability to measurement results when used for normalization or for quality control and/or assurance purposes.

Background: To minimise the referral gap to pain psychology, the purpose of this study was to describe clinician-perceived patient suitability for pain psychology referral, develop a referral plan and outline essential elements of a referral conversation via a modified Delphi approach with multidisciplinary paediatric pain providers.
Methods: We employed a three-round modified Delphi approach consulting multidisciplinary paediatric pain providers (n=18) including physicians, psychologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists and nurse practitioners (PT, OT, NP). Based on the responses to an online survey (Round 1), initial statements regarding the pain psychology referral process were developed.

To produce a theoretical approach about the relations between neuroscience and psychopathology that expands beyond the biomedical model to include a non-reductionist, enactive, and biocultural perspective. An integrative review, drawing from the biocultural approach from Anthropology, is used to produce examples from epigenetics, neuroplasticity, and functional neuroanatomy. A biocultural approach points to a brain that is highly plastic, reinforcing a much more complex model in which biological vulnerabilities and the historical-cultural environment co-construct each other.
