Global widespread of the metabolic syndrome has put a heavy social burden. Interestingly, a crucial link between the metabolic syndrome and a psychiatric disorder may frequently coexist, in which certain shared mechanisms might play a role for the pathogenesis.

The combination of refractory biofilms, persistent inflammation, and retarded angiogenesis can procure non-unions and life-threatening complications, calling for advanced therapeutics potent to orchestrate anti-infective effectiveness, benign biocompatibility, pro-reparative immunomodulation, and angiogenic regeneration. Herein, embracing the emergent "living bacterial therapy" paradigm, a designer probiotic-in-hydrogel wound dressing platform is demonstrated.

Background: Bariatric metabolic surgery has emerged as a pivotal intervention for managing obesity, with strict adherence to postoperative nutritional guidelines being paramount for patient outcomes. This study seeks to evaluate dietary compliance levels and the factors that influence them among patients who have undergone bariatric surgery, offering insights to enhance clinical strategies.
Method: Our research encompassed patients who underwent bariatric metabolic surgery at our institution from February 2022 to December 2023.

Training programs in pulmonary and critical care medicine have greatly expanded in the past decade, yet they do not reflect the racial/ethnic and economic diversity of the United States, which has significant implications for health equity. The lack of representation across medical education is likely to worsen with the recent Supreme Court decision banning affirmative action. The authors review health disparities in pulmonary and critical care medicine, the relationship of the workforce to health equity, and 10 tactics for addressing this urgent public health issue.

Results are still not up to par, even with the best efforts of conventional medicine, thus new avenues of investigation are required. Examining how immunotherapy, precision medicine, and AI are being used to manage lung cancer, this review shows how these tools can change the game for patients and increase their chances of survival.
