LASP to the Future of Atomic Simulation: Intelligence and Automation.

Precis Chem

December 2024

Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemistry for Energy Material, Shanghai Key Laboratory of Molecular Catalysis and Innovative Materials, Key Laboratory of Computational Physical Science, Department of Chemistry, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China.

Atomic simulations aim to understand and predict complex physical phenomena, the success of which relies largely on the accuracy of the potential energy surface description and the efficiency to capture important rare events. LASP software (large-scale atomic simulation with a Neural Network Potential), released in 2018, incorporates the key ingredients to fulfill the ultimate goal of atomic simulations by combining advanced neural network potentials with efficient global optimization methods. This review introduces the recent development of the software along two main streams, namely, higher intelligence and more automation, to solve complex material and reaction problems.

To address the problems of the labeling curved surfaces vegetable with long label, such as the label wrinkled and the easy detachment, a cam-elliptical gear combined labeling mechanism with an improved hypocycloid trajectory is proposed. Provide the process of the mechanism, and establish a kinematic model of the mechanism. In order to improve the motion performances of the cam-elliptical gear combined labeling mechanism and avoid labels damage, the NSGA-II algorithm is used to optimize the parameters of the mechanism, resulting in 80 sets of Pareto solutions.

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Neurology, Neuroinnovation Program, Multiple Sclerosis & Neuroimmunology Imaging Program, Dallas, TX, USA; The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Peter O'Donnell Jr. Brain Institute, Dallas, TX, USA. Electronic address:

Background: Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a commonly misdiagnosed condition. Driven by cost-consciousness and technological fluency, distinct generations may gravitate towards healthcare alternatives, including artificial intelligence (AI) models, such as ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer). Our objective was to evaluate the speed and accuracy of ChatGPT-3.

Digital upgrade of drainage detention devices for forced retention.

J Environ Manage

December 2024

Department of Infrastructure and Water Management, Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Architecture, Rzeszow University of Technology, Ave Powstańców Warszawy 6, 35-959, Rzeszów, Poland. Electronic address:

Current urban challenges related to local urban flooding require effective preventive measures. This applies particularly to various methods of stormwater retention, including forced retention, and solutions that enable cooperation between small individual retention systems and drainage systems. Therefore, this study presents the results of research on the hydraulic efficiency of controllable systems, which combine the features of an on-site tank with the solutions of network tanks to increase the retention of stormwater in drainage systems.

(1) Background: External force orthopedics and the strengthening of paraspinal muscles through exercise are common orthopedic methods for adolescent scoliosis, yet the synergetic mechanism of the two in orthopedic correction remains unclear. (2) Methods: A three-dimensional finite element model of the scoliotic spine was established to accurately simulate the mechanical properties of tissues such as the spine, intervertebral discs, and ribs. By applying external forces in different directions to the scoliosis model, the orthopedic effects of these forces on scoliosis were analyzed.
