Department of Paediatric Orthopaedics, Medical University of Lublin, 20-059 Lublin, Poland.
: A common problem in pediatric orthopedics is leg length discrepancy (LLD). In adulthood, this may result in overload and degenerative changes in the lumbar spine, hip, and knee joints of the longer limb, and the fixed equinus position of the foot of the shorter limb. Surgical treatment using temporary epiphysiodesis with eight-plate implants is a minimally invasive, safe, and patient-tolerated procedure in LLD.

: Despite advancements in vascular surgery, the mortality among peripheral arterial disease (PAD) patients undergoing major amputations remains high. While a large body of evidence has previously covered survival rates after major amputation, there is less evidence regarding the associated survival penalty from an epidemiological perspective. The present analysis aimed at quantifying the survival disadvantage after major lower limb amputation while investigating which factors are associated with mortality in this patient cohort.

: B3 breast lesions, characterized by uncertain malignant potential, pose a significant challenge for clinicians. With the increasing use of preoperative biopsies, there is a need for careful management strategies, including watchful waiting, vacuum-assisted excision (VAE), and surgery. This study aims to assess the concordance between preoperative biopsy findings and postoperative histology, with a focus on evaluating the positive predictive value (PPV) for malignancy in B3 lesions.

Famotidine, a H-receptor antagonist, is commonly used to treat heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease during pregnancy. However, information on the pharmacokinetics (PK) of famotidine in pregnant patients is limited since pregnant patients are usually excluded from clinical trials. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model for famotidine in non-pregnant and pregnant populations, and to combine it with a pharmacodynamic (PD) model to predict the effect of famotidine on intragastric pH.
