Rotator cuff tears are common causes of functional shoulder instability and often lead to arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. A well-programmed rehabilitation leads to successful tendon healing, positive functional recovery and subjective well-being (SWB). To evaluate the changes in shoulder functioning and SWB pre-, post-outpatient rehabilitation and after one-month follow-up. : A total of 44 patients were assessed three times: at the beginning (six weeks' post-surgery), at the end of outpatient rehabilitation (2-3 weeks) and one month after rehabilitation. The outcome measures were the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand score (DASH), active range of motion (ROM), manual muscle testing (MMT), hand dynamometry (HD) and pain level by a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). SWB was assessed by Rosenberg self-esteem scale (RSES), Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) and the Lithuanian Psychological Well-Being Scale (LPWBS). Results are presented as a difference between periods. Affected shoulder motor function (MMT, HD and ROM) significantly improved in three periods ( < 0.05); however, major recovery was observed in the follow-up period. VAS scores meaningfully decreased over all stages and negatively correlated with motor function recovery ( < 0.05). DASH rates exhibited significant retrieval in all phases, especially in follow-up. SWB results demonstrated the larger effects of self-evaluation in follow-up, improved daily functions and psychological wellness, then negative emotions significantly decreased ( < 0.05). The experienced pain and psychosocial factors significantly influence functional recovery of the shoulder during rehabilitation. The improvement in motor function, ability and pain relief during rehabilitation increases level of SWB, psychological wellness and positive emotional affect in long-term context.

Electrochemically converting nitrate (NO ) to value-added ammonia (NH) is a complex process involving an eight-electron transfer and numerous intermediates, presenting a significant challenge for optimization. A multi-elemental synergy strategy to regulate the local electronic structure at the atomic level is proposed, creating a broad adsorption energy landscape in high-entropy alloy (HEA) catalysts. This approach enables optimal adsorption and desorption of various intermediates, effectively overcoming energy-scaling limitations for efficient NH electrosynthesis.

Objective: To assess the impact of parathyroid gland autotransplantation on the restoration of parathyroid function in patients who are hypoparathyroid after thyroidectomy.
Background Data: Hypoparathyroidism post-thyroidectomy arises when all parathyroid glands are devascularized or injured. Autotransplantation of compromised parathyroids aims to preserve their function and prevent permanent hypoparathyroidism.

Objective: Evaluate the relationship of cathepsin-D (CD) on disease severity and clinical outcomes for women with peripartum cardiomyopathy.
Background: Cathepsin-D is a protease released during oxidative stress that cleaves prolactin (PRL) generating a 16 kDa fragment that is pro-apoptotic, anti-angiogenic, and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM).
Methods: In 99 women with newly diagnosed PPCM enrolled in the Investigation in Pregnancy Associated Cardiomyopathy (IPAC) study, CD levels were assessed by ELISA from serum obtained at study entry.

Brachial plexus birth injury (BPBI) is a condition affecting newborns and involves damage to the nerve fibers compromising the brachial plexus during birth. Although most newborns recover spontaneously, a large subset require surgery to regain function, and others will have permanent disability despite intervention. Deciding when to pursue surgical intervention remains a challenge for clinicians treating BPBI.

Objective: Sciatic nerve injuries often lead to severe pain and motor dysfunction, causing serious impact on patients' quality of life. Acupuncture, as one of the main therapies in traditional Chinese medicine, is gradually gaining attention in the field of nerve injury due to its potential role in pain relief and nerve repair. Bibliometric and scientific knowledge mapping methods were employed to analyze the current research status, hotspots, and development trends of acupuncture for sciatic nerve injury (SNI) over the past decade.
