General paresis is a rare type of syphilis characterized by progressive cognitive impairment and psychiatric syndromes. It is often misdiagnosed because of its rarity and similarity with other diseases. We aimed to comprehensively investigate the clinical, radiological, pathological, and prognostic features of general paresis, and compare it with other dementias.

New Onset Refractory Status Epilepticus (NORSE) is a rare and severe condition characterized by refractory seizures in individuals without a prior history of epilepsy. This case report describes a 37-year-old woman diagnosed with anti-glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (anti-GAD65) antibody-positive encephalitis-related NORSE. Her seizures were refractory to multiple interventions, including anti-seizure medications, anesthetics, immunotherapies, a ketogenic diet, and electroconvulsive therapy.

Background: Autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) has been ranked as the third most common cause of encephalitis after viral encephalitis and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis. The estimated incidence is 5-8 cases per 100,000 population. The objective of this study was to develop a cost-effective test for detection of anti NMDA R antibodies by using in house prepared rodent brain tissue sections which could facilitate timely diagnosis and management of anti NMDA R Encephalitis, which if left undiagnosed may prove fatal.
