Magnetic-based theranostics feature a high efficiency, excellent tissue penetration, and minimal damage to normal tissues, are noninvasive, and are widely used in the diagnosis and therapy of clinical diseases. Herein, a conceptually novel magnetostrictive-piezoelectric nanocatalytic medicine (MPE-NCM) for tumor therapy is proposed by initiating an intratumoral magneto-driven and piezoelectric-catalyzed reaction using core-shell structured CoFeO-BiFeO magnetostrictive-piezoelectric nanoparticles (CFO-BFO NPs) under an alternating magnetic field. The CFO-BFO NPs catalyze the generation of cytotoxic reactive oxygen species (ROS): superoxide radicals (•O) and hydroxyl radicals (•OH). The simulation calculation demonstrates the highly controllable electric polarization, facilitating the above catalytic reactions under the magnetic stimulation. Both a detailed cell-level assessment and the tumor xenograft evaluation evidence the significant tumor eradication efficacy of MPE-NCM. This study proposes an original and novel magneto-responsive nanocatalytic modality for cancer therapy, which displays promising prospects for the future clinic translation owing to its excellent catalytic dynamic responsiveness, high therapeutic efficacy, and biosafety .

The established protocol for the management of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has traditionally involved the administration of induction chemotherapy, followed by consolidation chemotherapy, and subsequent allogeneic stem cell transplantation for eligible patients. However, the prognosis for individuals with relapsed and refractory AML remains unfavorable. In response to the necessity for more efficacious therapeutic modalities, targeted immunotherapy has emerged as a promising advancement in AML treatment.

We demonstrate that performing anatomical pulmonary resection by video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery without staplers or energy devices is feasible. This technique is an alternative for surgeons with limited access to expensive technologies.

Introduction: Complete radical resection is crucial for successfully treating thymic carcinomas. However, when the invasion of the great vessels or the heart in Masaoka III and IV stages occurs, the management poses more challenges. The R0 resection often requires neoadjuvant treatment.

The use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in surgery is expanding as the medical community started adopting it, with good results, for procedures with high risk of respiratory and hemodynamic instability. This technique provided the possibility to reduce the number of patients previously considered inoperable because of these limitations. Thymic epithelial tumors (TETs) are rare neoplastic mediastinal lesions, with a reported incidence of 0.

Introduction: Prostate cancer (PCa) is the commonest urologic cancer worldwide and the leading cause of male cancer deaths in Nigeria. In Nigeria, orchidectomy remains the primary androgen deprivation therapy. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is the active prostatic androgen, but its relationship with PCa severity has not been extensively studied in Africa.
