Unlabelled: We discuss the methods and results of the RESSTE team in the competition on spatial statistics for large datasets. In the first sub-competition, we implemented block approaches both for the estimation of the covariance parameters and for prediction using ordinary kriging. In the second sub-competition, a two-stage procedure was adopted. In the first stage, the marginal distribution is estimated neglecting spatial dependence, either according to the flexible Tuckey and distribution or nonparametrically. In the second stage, estimation of the covariance parameters and prediction are performed using Kriging. Vecchias's approximation implemented in the GpGp package proved to be very efficient. We then make some propositions for future competitions.

Objective: This study examined economic inequality in coverage of selected maternal and child healthcare (MCH) indicators in India and its states over the last 15 years.
Design: The study analysed last three rounds of the National Family Health Survey data, conducted during 2005-2006, 2015-2016 and 2019-2021. Bivariate analyses, ratio of richest to poorest, slope index of inequality (SII) and multivariate binary logistic regression analyses were used to examine the coverage as well as inequalities in the outcome indicators for India and its states and at district level.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) offers high-resolution images of the eye's fundus. This enables thorough analysis of retinal health by doctors, providing a solid basis for diagnosis and treatment. With the development of deep learning, deep learning-based methods are becoming more popular for fundus OCT image segmentation.

The spatial transcriptomics is a rapidly evolving biological technology that simultaneously measures the gene expression profiles and the spatial locations of spots. With progressive advances, current spatial transcriptomic techniques can achieve the cellular or even the subcellular resolution, making it possible to explore the fine-grained spatial pattern of cell types within one tissue section. However, most existing cell spatial clustering methods require a correct specification of the cell type number, which is hard to determine in the practical exploratory data analysis.

Background: Abnormal brain insulin signaling has been associated with Alzheimer's disease pathology and a faster rate of late-life cognitive decline. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we examined whether AD-related cortical proteins identified using targeted-proteomics play a role in the association of brain insulin signaling and cognitive decline.

Background: Emerging research suggests adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have long-lasting impacts on adult brain health, but few studies investigate these effects in older adults. The present study examined ACEs and their relationships to late-life cognitive and mental health among older adults living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Method: 102 cognitively unimpaired older adults [mean age = 75, 58% female, 75% White, 25% Latino, mean education = 17 years] were enrolled in UC San Francisco's Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
