Canine acanthomatous ameloblastoma (CAA) is an invasive benign epithelial odontogenic tumour most commonly affecting the mandible of large breed dogs. To the author's knowledge, this report describes the first computer-aided design patient-specific implant (PSI) that has been placed for a critical sized bone defect in mandibular reconstruction of a dog in the UK. The aim was to restore mandibular stability using a regenerative approach combining a titanium locking plate and compression-resistant matrix infused with recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2) to bridge the 85 mm mandibular defect created by a segmental mandibulectomy.

The construction of transportation infrastructure lines alters the natural terrain, leading to uneven redistribution of snow under the influence of snow-drifting, which can compromise road safety. With the ongoing expansion of transportation networks in cold regions, transportation engineers are increasingly focusing on snow-drifting phenomena and the associated disasters. This study, based on a GIS platform, conducts a case study of a transport infrastructure project in Xinjiang to analyze the geographical and environmental conditions along the route.

Red mud (RM), an iron oxide-rich solid waste, shows potential as a catalyst for selective catalytic reduction in denitrification processes. This study investigates the catalytic performance and mechanism of metal-modified RM in reducing NO from diesel vehicle exhaust. Acid-washed RM catalysts were impregnated with varying ratios of cerium (Ce) and zirconium (Zr).

We propose a universal method based on deep reinforcement learning (specifically, soft actor-critic) to control the chimera state in the coupled oscillators. The policy for control is learned by maximizing the expectation of the cumulative reward in the reinforcement learning framework. With the aid of the local order parameter, we design a class of reward functions for controlling the chimera state, specifically confining the spatial position of coherent and incoherent domains to any desired lateral position of oscillators.

Background: The objective of this study was to analyze long-term trends in ischemic stroke (IS), subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) mortality from smoking in China from 1992 to 2021, to provide scientific advice on stroke prevention and treatment in China.
Methods: The mortality data of smoking-related stroke and its subtypes in China during 1992-2021 were collected from the Global Burden of Disease 2021. Joinpoint regression model and Age-period-cohort (APC) model were used for trend analysis.
