To identify compliance of special health care needs and healthy pediatric patients with preventive dental appointments after treatment under general anesthesia (GA).
Records of special health care needs (SHCN) patients treated under GA in 2015 and 2016 were reviewed. The control group consisted of randomly selected healthy patients also treated under GA in the same time period and hospital. Patient demographics were compared, and the number of preventive visits was recorded for 24 months after GA.
The sample consisted of 141 SHCN patients and 142 healthy children. The average number of preventive visits post-GA appointment was 2.74 out of a recommended nine visits over two years for the study population. There was a statistically significant difference in the level of compliance based on age and referral source, but there was no difference based on health status.
Compliance with preventive dental visits after treatment under GA among all pediatric patients, regardless of health status, must be improved. Caregivers must be further educated to implement change and barriers to care must be explored.

Background: While the significance of care navigation in facilitating access to health care within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other (LGBTQ+) communities has been acknowledged, there is limited research examining how care navigation influences an individual's ability to understand and access the care they need in real-world settings. By analyzing private sector data, we can bridge the gap between theoretical research findings and practical applications, ultimately informing both business strategies and public policy with evidence grounded in real-world efficacy.

Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of specialized virtual care navigation services on LGBTQ+ individuals' ability to comprehend and access necessary care within a national cohort of commercially insured members.

In the slipstream of these developments increasing commercial initiatives are taking shape.

Simulation-based training in mental health is increasingly recognised as an effective tool within nursing education. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of various simulation modalities, including standardised participants (SPs), role-plays, virtual reality (VR), mannequins and voice simulations, in improving educational outcomes for nursing students. A comprehensive literature search was conducted to identify studies evaluating the impact of mental health simulation on nursing education.

Evoked potential metrics extracted from an EEG exam can provide novel sources of information regarding brain function. While the P300 occurring around 300 ms post-stimulus has been extensively investigated in relation to mild cognitive impairment (MCI), with decreased amplitude and increased latency, the P200 response has not, particularly in an oddball-stimulus paradigm. This study compares the auditory P200 amplitudes between MCI (28 patients aged 74(8)) and non-MCI, (35 aged 72(4)).
