A young male presented to the hospital with chest pain. A coronary angiogram and a subsequent computed tomography coronary angiogram revealed a single coronary artery arising from the right coronary sinus which bifurcated into the right coronary artery and a large branch which supplies the left coronary artery territory. Diabetes is a rapidly growing global health concern projected to affect one in eight adults by 2045, which translates to roughly 783 million people. The profound metabolic alterations often present in dysglycaemia significantly increase the risk of cardiovascular complications. While genetic susceptibility plays a crucial role in diabetes and its vascular complications, identifying genes and molecular mechanisms that influence both diseases simultaneously has proven challenging.

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is an increasingly recognised cause of acute coronary syndrome predominantly affecting women (>90% of cases) that is frequently associated with other arteriopathies, such as fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) and migraine. We present a case of multi-vessel SCAD in a woman in her 40s presenting with myocardial infarction in whom incidental widespread FMD was found, including a massive right renal artery aneurysm requiring ex vivo resection, repair and autotransplantation. The case underscores the need for routine angiographic screening for FMD, which has a shared genetic risk with SCAD, and is associated with aneurysms, stenoses and hypertension.

Background: Observational studies have reported that sleep is associated with the risk of major depressive disorder (MDD) and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). However, the causal relationships among various sleep traits remain contentious, and whether MDD mediates the impact of specific sleep traits on CVDs is unclear.
Methods: We performed two-sample Mendelian randomisation analyses to explore whether insomnia, sleep time, daytime napping, daytime sleepiness, chronotype, snoring or obstructive sleep apnoea were causally associated with the risk of five CVDs, including coronary artery disease (CAD), myocardial infarction (MI), heart failure (HF), atrial fibrillation and stroke.

Non-ignorable missing data arise often in clinical trials. The VEST trial, a randomized, within-patient-controlled study, assessed the effect of an external scaffold for saphenous vein grafts on intimal hyperplasia (IH) one year after coronary artery bypass graft surgery. It was anticipated that approximately 13 % of grafts would be occluded and unsuitable for intravascular ultrasound, resulting in missing IH values at 1-year.
