Postpartum papillary muscle rupture (PMR) is extremely uncommon and tolerated poorly with limited management options other than emergency surgical intervention. This case demonstrates the challenges of postpartum PMR in a young woman with unrecognized vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and highlights the importance of preconception screening of cardiovascular disease. Background: I-131 uptake in the breast could be occasionally observed in differentiated thyroid cancer who received I-131 scintigraphy or therapy. Herein, we report a postpartum patient with papillary thyroid cancer with breast uptake who received I-131 therapy.
Case Report: A 33-year-old postpartum woman with thyroid cancer received 120mCi(4440MBq) I- 131 therapy 5 weeks after she ceased to breastfeed.

Thyroid cancer incidence is higher in women than men, especially during the reproductive years, for reasons that remain poorly understood. Using population-based registry data from 4 Nordic countries through 2015, we examined associations of perinatal characteristics with risk of maternal thyroid cancer. Cases were women diagnosed with thyroid cancer ≥2 years after last birth (n = 7,425, 83% papillary).
